Smartphone Garage Door opener, easier than I first thought.
Ever since replacing an up and over manual garage door with a motorised version I have been looking for ways to improve the operation. Added to the install was an internal button sited just inside the pedestrian back door of the garage.I was a bit intimidated by the wiring when looking to add an additional button inside the house as not wanting to damage anything. I ran a bell wire and then thought about it. My usual DIY skills end up with blood, damage, electric shocks and smoke so not wanting to damage the working garage operation I was unusually cautious so nothing happened. One day I noticed this item appeared in an Amazon deal email so had a closer look.I was encouraged by the specifications which included my garage door motor system, then the simple instruction that if shorting out the bell button inside the garage opened the motorised door then this would work. So I bought it, took the bell button apart and used the enclosed 2cm jumper wire, shorted out the terminals in the button.. Behold, the garage door started to open. Thus encouraged I decided to continue. Two issues 1. The bell button 5 metres from a power socket. 2. The garage door power outlet within 30cm of the motor. This caused me some consternation and doubt about my skills so I decided to reroute the bell wire closer to the electrical socket near to the motor. This was to allow all connections to the motor and opener device to be near to each other so I could keep an eye on the connections. I then read the instructions provided and then the shorting out of the button wire hit the understanding button in my head. I cut the bell wire and again shorted wires, garage door opened. Lightbulb moment! This garage door opener is a simple WiFi switch which acts like the bell button and simply shorts out the wires. According to the instructions it does not matter which of the operation wires is positive or negative in the shorting process. So a few moments of soldering the connections and rejoining the cut wire. Plugging in to the usb socket, fixing wires to the motor supports, testing and everything worked. Then came the door open detection wire, magnetic switch, where to place it. I decided the top of the door rather than at a side to reduce potential for accidental damage. This caused a bit of difficulty as one side of the connection is a magnet and needs to be a certain distance apart when garage door closed to correctly signal to the switch that it is closed. A few placements and connectors too far apart. A spacer and done, hot glue and I had it working. Time to download the App, an easy process. I followed the instructions to add the switch which was quickly recognised. Pressed the door logo. Amazed, the door opened. Seconds later notification received on my phone that door opened. Process repeated, notification received on phone that door closed with added time notification.I now have my phone to operate the door. Next is to get a home page widget to make the process easier. I have had a bit of a difficulty adding the door to my smart home system to allow voice control etc. Rereading the instructions required as it seems to involve PIN numbers which I am not sure of. Do this for another day or until someone notices this and adds a comment or a review which makes this process easier for me.Overall the process was painless, once I had realised the device was a simple on/off switch easier to fit than I first thought. I took about 90 minutes to complete the install which included rerouting the bell wire and collapsing ladders, soldering, as well as finding cable clips to tidy everything. In general I am a very happy customer with a working smartphone controller. I only have one issue of full satisfaction, that is if you use the supplied remote controller or bell button the door logo in the App does not always refresh. I have been occasionally wrong about the garage doors status. One thing to negate this is I noticed the door reports its last used status. EG garage door closed at xx.xx hrs which if it is later than the open state then I am happy that the door has closed. One small point, it was not immediately obvious to me how to get access to the device options in the App and an unconscious action of press the top right of the App logo when a bunch of setting popped up. Seems comprehensive and easy to set.Now to get voice control working.

Easy to install, works really well with Alexa
Bought this to avoid purchasing the Somfy addon which was considerably more expensive. It was very easy to install. You connect the unit to the override key sensor on your door opener. You also add an extra sensor so that the unit can detect if the door is open or not. Connecting to the Wifi was easy and the App was straight forward. Using the required 'SKILL', Alexa easily found the Door Lock. As an extra security feature I added a 4 digit pin when using Alexa to unlock the door. Just didn't want someone screaming through the letterbox 'Alexa Unlock Garage Door' :-).

I can now use my garage
Half the price of a remote from the garage door company and the best bit NO MORE BATTERIES yippee! Works a treat on the phone. The only critisism is you do have to wait for your phone to pickup your home WiFi before you can open the door, but its no big deal.

Does what it says on the tin (at least, what Alexa says!)
Easy to install and configure and works like a charm so far. A bit stressful trying to work out how to connect it to the garage door opener as I don't have an external switch, but referring to the Garador 9 door user manual sorted out the confusion. Very cool gadget now!

Great price and excellent product
The remote works well and was easy to install- the lengthiest part was getting my iPhone to initially sync with the unit but this was down to the iPhone NOT the remote itself. I would definitely recommend this product, it works well with the Garamatic series 9 garage door 5*

Does the job it promised
Worked first time with my 25 year old garage door automated opener. My purchase was prompted because the old remote control was becoming less reliable. This was not only a cheaper solution than buying a replacement remote control but adds a number of benefits.
