SAVOIE'S® Old Fashioned Dark Roux (16 oz)

This is a great roux & so easy to use. I don't want to spend a lot of time making a perfect dark roux. This is so quick & makes a very tasty gumbo for a great price.

I don’t use dark roux often. I make duck and andouille gumbo a couple of times a year. So I’m not an expert and my experiences making really dark roux have been hit-or-miss. This product works every time, takes almost no effort, and with it I can make delicious gumbo without worrying that I’m going to screw it up. I use about 8 oz for a huge 3-duck pot of gumbo, so this roux costs maybe 30 cents per serving? Unless you’ve been making roux for years and never fail at it, why would anyone not use this?

My first time NOT making my own. This stuff is pretty decent not gone lie. Cut me a little time. I did not follow the instructions lol, but it still turned out sooooo good. My family loved it.

It takes time to get a dark roux. This product saved the time and the question of whether the roux was dark enough. It was somewhat difficult to use as it had separated in the jar and was impossible to mix. The taste was very good.

I used this gumbo roux to make seafood and chicken gumbo. It saved me at least 2 hours prep. My gumbo taste so good. I used a half jar. The jar is well worth the money. Keep this in your pantry just in case you need it! Quality product.

I'm too old to stand long enough to make a proper roux. This one is so deep and velvety it taste like I made it myself. 😋 So yummy good, rich and brown. Don't be afraid to try it. I give it 11 out of 10 gators.

This is something I wanted to try that I saw someone on instagram recommend and use in their gumbo. I’ll just say it’s fast and easy but I will never use it again. Just not that good tasting. No short cuts for good gumbo
