Does waterproof mean submersible? I have a lab that spontaneously swims daily and would like a training collar that can stand that much water.
i am looking for a collar that does not fall asleep. I have a collar now that does work with my dogs but after no movement for a period of time it will only wake up if the dog moves, but it has to be a rough move and not just standing up, if that makes sense.. so anway, I am looking for something that will wake up w/th…

Your Dogtra product should be used only in a humane manner to train and educate your dog. Dogtra products are not intended for use in any other manner nor are they intended for use with other animals or with humans. Leaving the receiver in the same location on the dog’s neck for an extended period of time is not recommended. If the dog is to wear the receiver for long periods, occasionally reposition the receiver so that the contact points are moved to a different location on the dog’s neck. Make sure to check your dog’s neck each time you use the unit.

My trainer has only used it twice on my 23# Scottish Terrier (Service Dog) to improve her recall. You have to set it to at least 30 for your k-9 pal to feel it. It's meant for small dogs. I did not want anything large or heavy. I've found that just putting the E collar on her work just as well without using the electricity! Dogs are VERY smart. Put it on every day in am, take it off in pm for 2 weeks and that seems to do the trick. Personally....I will NOT \"push the button\", I leave that to my professional Trainer. If you are not trained to use this device you WILL do MORE HARM then good. Advice...TRY it on yourself 1st!!! Although it is for a small dog....IT IS QUITE UNCOMFORTABLE! I won't use the word pain...but I am a woman weighing 152 pounds and I DO NOT like the sensation at all! Go with lowest setting or just the vibrate mode that you k-9 responds to. I repeat....Put the collar on every day for 2 weeks BEFORE using the vibrate of electricity!! It is able to be submersed into water. The dog should be good to go as a swimmer. The manufacture warranty covers the collar, however the hand held receiver is not submersible. ECollar Technologies' 300 and 400 do not fall asleep either. From a training perspective, and eCollar that falls asleep would be a bad thing, not allowing you to communicate with your dog in moments that are critical to learning.
