Remington Ionic Conditioning Hair Setter, 20 Velvet Hair Rollers, 6 Large (1¼”), 10 Medium (1"), 4 Small (¾”), Blowout Style Hair Curlers

I've had this brand and style of hot-rollers for YEARS and I needed to find new ones that would match the exceptional quality of my dinosaur-hot-rollers, that still work by the way. In resent couple of years I've purchased several other styles and brands of hot-rollers, but ended up just going back to using my old ones because none of the new styles I've tried come up even close to my old ones. I finally found these that looked very much like my old rollers that are still hanging in there. I tried these out the same day they were delivered and BINGO! YES, these work just as good as my old hot-rollers. The heating system is just a little bit different, that had me worried at first sight, but they do a great job. The velvet covers are a HUGE plus because it calmes the friz, it doesn't damage hair at all, and it heats up hot for a long lasting style. You can use these to set hair for waves, or bouncing curls, or volume, whatever floats your boat. It all depends on the technique you use when rolling up hair around a specific size of a hot-roller.

Works as anticipated, clips hold tightly. Rollers are smaller than I expected but are ok. It takes a bit longer to heat up than my previous set with larger rollers but is a good temp, not overly hot.

These rollers get very hot, and therefore do a much better job of curling my hair than other modern hot rollers I’ve tried. The rollers grab my hair pretty well. The size assortment works okay for my hair. I have shoulder length fine thick hair with a bit of natural curl, so it takes curl well. I would love for them to offer a set with more of the large size, and none of the smallest size. But a combination of the large and medium rollers gives me a very full set of curls. Downsides: The insulating (cool touch) end on one of one roller has come unglued and keeps wanting to fall off. There is no on/off switch and no pocket for the pins. The pins work really well though. Nothing fancy, but this set does the job much much better than the last three hot roller sets I’ve tried. Definitely recommend.

These do the job and get really hot. You can tell when they are ready because the little dot on one of the big rollers in the middle turns white. It doesn't take long for them to heat up and they curled really quickly. Great price for a lot of rollers and a nice variety of sizes.

I only gave three stars because of the clips that hold the curlers in place. Otherwise, they heat up great, and the whole thing keeps everything organized and accessible. If it weren't for the badly designed (in my opinion) clips that didn't work for me, it would be great. For long hair this might work out fine.Difficult to use with shorter hair because the clips that hold the rollers on your head require a lot of space between curlers.

Very nice hot set.

I had bought a Conair and it would take me an hour to set my ewhile taking out the curlers that weren't curling. Plus the curlers would fall out. So I went back to what I always used. Curlers don't fall out, heats up fast and actually curls my hair. Love this and you can't go wrong by purchasing it.

I haven't used hot rollers in years! I grew up with a set and loved them. Then after many years it finally had to be retired and the newer ones tangled in my long hair and because my hair was also thick but very fine, and the metal pins wouldn't hold them, I gave up. I kept my very straight hair long, then later went to a shoulder length bob. Eventually my hair thinned out a bit due to age and a medication. I finally decided to try hot rollers again for a change of do after reading reviews. This was a great price and I ordered the clamp clips as an add-on at the suggestion of Amazon's "frequently bought together" and reviews of various hot curlers where people preferred those clips.I was so pleasantly surprised. The reviewer who said the "J" clips are better now than they used to be was right and with these lightweight rollers, they work fine but I do like the clamp style so I'm happy I got both. These rollers give plenty of curl in 3 sizes. I like the number included as well as the variety. It is easy to use. I don't know exactly how fast it heats up because I generally plug it in before my shower or while putting on makeup and it is ready when I am. The hard case is nice too and looks great sitting on my bathroom counter, ready to use. I had some concern about the flock style holding in my hair but with the clamps they work just fine and no tangling. It is way easier than trying to curl the back of my hair with an iron and goes faster because I can do other things while the curl sets. I would definitely recommend this product.My hair currently hits my shoulders so I'm not trying to get super long curls now so I can't speak to that but I feel my hair could be a bit longer and still do well. I can't speak to very long, thick hair like mine in days past but in those days I required 2 complete 20 roller sets to do my hair and even with that, the hair is so fine it would fall out of curl easily. Using product like a styling spray definitely helps and losing the super oily hair of adolescence also means I can do 2nd and 3rd post-shampoo days and the curl just takes that much better because I"m not starting from totally straight so it only takes a few minutes to revive the hairdo.Addition to original review. After using this hairsetter for a few months now, I have just one comment to add. I have had an end cap come off one of the large rollers. It can be replaced by pushing it into place but what happened is it got caught as I pulled it out of the opening slot. It was difficult to get the cap out from below the grate that holds the curlers in place. I managed it but it happened twice. If I were to contribute to a wish list on this it would be that the holes were just ever so slightly larger so it wouldn't catch. But, I'm still loving it and would buy again.UPDATE: I have used these for several months now and though I still like how they curl, I have not had 3 end caps come off. These are very hard to retrieve when they are at the heated end and come off when you lift out the roller (or should I say "pry" since it seems they get stuck easily. One opening literally seems to have shrunk. The end caps can be pushed back on but they don't stay put. The other thing I wish is that there were more large rollers. I never use the tiny ones and I purchased another set to have some jumbos but they were actually bigger than I wanted and I hate heating two units to get enough larger rollers anyway. The large rollers in this set are a great size. I wish I could buy a whole set of that size. I probably would not purchase this again, given the experience over about one year.
