Works as advertised.
We purchased this handwashing station to replace a similar one that we'd bought over 25 years ago from a River rafting supply company. That one was much taller, which we loved, because you didn't have to bend over as far to wash your hands. This one opeates with the same type of foot pump/valve, and same principle. I wish this one had a taller tube/spigot, but it was the best one we could find for the price (Which I think all of them are pretty overpriced that are available for purchase - a crafty person could likely make one for about $25-30, but who has the time, right?) If I were to make my own, I'd make the spigot much taller to prevent having to bend over so far to use it. But, for the convenience of not having to make your own, having this one shipped to your door in about a week, this is the most reasonably priced one I could find. (I think our purchase price was around $76 - $80.)I did like the hand soap holder, (Which our other one did not have, we just set the soap on something nearby) but be careful to brace the unit/bucket, when you pump the soap or you'll upset the whole thing just by pressing the soap nozzle down when dispensing soap in your hand. It's not perfect, but it works really well. It's a great hands free handwash station, and the Health Department loves these for food booths and on site catering gigs. (We owned an on site catering business for 19 years and our other one worked perfectly for that purpose - we sold it with the business) Sanitation is very important, this is a perfect way to provide that when away from running water.

Pump needs to accommodate avg foot size
I really love the function and easy to set up design. We are doing a lot of gardening and yard work and have a kid who loves to get dirty- all 3 of us use this frequently. This limits the amount of muddy shoe traffic into the house as well as the dirt from our hands going down the drain of our old house pipes. We really look forward to camping with this also! Kids do love to use it which will make large family outdoor gatherings more sanitary. The only thing I’m disappointed in is the width of the foot pump- I have narrow feet and I find it hard to use- my husband can only get his toes on there to pump with. I would give it 5 stars if not for that. Because it’s not wide enough to put your shoe on fully I’m concerned people may step on the connector parts of the pump and it will break over time. For that reason the price seems like a steep gamble.

Its a pretty easy product to make and Im a DIY guy
I have always used these on rafting trips. They sell them at some raft stores for around $100. Everyone I know just makes them. Its a pretty easy product to make and Im a DIY guy. I made most of my rafting gear including frame, tables, dry boxes, ext. But when I found this online I thought that it was well worth the price. I could have built one and saved money but it wouldn't be as nice and I would have spent hours going shopping for parts, cutting and bending metal, and everything else. If your thinking about building one, do your self a favor and just order this one. Its good quality and the price is beyond fair. Im sure a few of my rafting friends will end up buying this set up once they see mine in action.

Overpriced but Effective
The copper tubing arrived twisted and bent. Considering the cost of the materials and the fact that this didn't come with a bucket, this is way over-priced. It was a last minute purchase and arrived the next day. I bought this for a group camp. I'm building something similar for some friends now.

So glad I bought this one
This thing is truly awesome. I use it for a backcountry crew camp and it's simple and elegant, and it's so nice to have something made of durable materials, not just cheap plastic. I originally balked at the price when there are so many cheaper ones, but this is totally worth it. Highly recommended for away-from-water sanitation.

Portable and durable
I use this for a primitive field camp with educators in the Badlands which can be a very muddy environment. We have strict hand hygiene protocols (after rest room, before eating) so this gets a lot of use.The rubber foot pump is holding up well, though I am tempted to find a spare because after 4 years of muddy use I'm concerned about failure at a mission-critical moment. The tubing is also holding up - no cracks or leaks - but I will have to replace as some moisture over the winter has caused mold to grow. (That's on me) I ran vinegar through the system for a short term fix but this year I will run vinegar through and then disassemble before storing for winter. No issues with the filter intake in. We drop it in a 6 gallon jerry can and forget about it till it's time to refill. Is it too expensive? I can't speak to that. I do know that we have not had a single episode of camp-wide gastro issues since handwashing is easy and convenient with this set up. And when you are in the backcountry, gastro issues are real since hand hygiene can go by the wayside easily. If you want a set up that makes it easy for people to wash their hands, this is it.

I suppose to the lazy with $ this works out just fine..
So it's $60's product of about.... $20's of actual material and you don't even get a bucket....? I suppose to the lazy with $ this works out just fine... otherwise you can find just about every piece here at your local hardware store. Take the time and deconstruct this product from the picture and make your own. Besides once you learn how to do it you can do it again and again and make others for Christmas gifts and NOT charge an extortion amount.

Yes! Worth it.
I thought about making one of these myself and never got around to it. I honestly didn’t have high expectations but am so pleased. The quality on the pump far exceeds anything I could possibly make, and it works better than other models I’ve seen. I particularly like the clip to attach to the bucket instead of something that tightens with a screw. Very happy about this.
