Q: Are the blades long and sharp enough to cut the head off of a live chicken?

Probably so; however, I have found that older, out of work, "Heavy Metal Rockers (musicians)" are best.....especially if you are concerned about lessening self injury. If you are into Voodooism, you need to invest in a 12 inch, full tang, Damascus, or a 7Cr13 steel, Blade with oversized guard and pommel......"cut the head off of a live chicken." Are you Unionized?

Q: Do these scissors separate for cleaning?

They do not separate. And I would wash/dry them by hand to prevent rusting.

Q: Can these be used to precisely cut paper products as well?

I use mine to cut things like wrapping paper as well. I personally would not use them to cut fabric or make precision paper cuts just because these have fatter blades that could get in the way of seeing where you are cutting.
