It works great. Color develops, so don't look at color of the shampoo for "dye"
Many reviewers have posted pictures of the color of the shampoo saying they "took the dye out of the shampoo in this new formula" and there's no way it's going to work... etc etc... I wasted some product smearing it in the sink before and after a few minutes. Yes, it changes colors. It will get MUCH darker than this and it cleans right off. No, just like hair dye it develops. It's kinda weird because of how long after you put it on that it takes effect. Maybe a few hours. The pictures you see are after about a week of use. It seems the gray on the sides is a bit more stubborn as are the hairs on the neck. It's okay though because it looks more natural that way because that's where we typically gray first. So if you're tired of looking like a 50 year old man with graying hair, with this product you can look like a 50 year old man with a 30 year old man's hair. Or perhaps a 40 year old with amazing hair that life has been rough on. This is not plastic surgery, and although it makes your hair appear naturally younger it might not match the rest of the look. So be prepared for that harsh reality. I'm going to let mine gray out some more. I went too far. And that's the greatest asset of dying the hair this way. The look is natural and you can go back in time and stop at a certain year. It's fantastic. But it's only hair color. But it's pretty cool.

Good stuff..
Ok, as a professional barber/stylist I know a bit about hair color. I used to color my hair. Then I decided to let it grow out and be natural, grey and all. The grey in my hair is mostly in front and a silvery white. I didn’t want to spend the money or go through the process of coloring my hair again so I decided to try this shampoo to hopefully achieve a blonde where the white is. By blonde I mean a soft golden color. This shampoo toned down the white. It isn’t blonde, but more of a pewter color or darkish grey. It’s very ashy. It’s ok and although it isn’t what I was hoping for, it isn’t bad. The shampoo itself made my hair soft and managable. I am 73 years old. My hair is naturally curly and almost to my waist. I blow out my bangs and the shampoo made my bangs soft and silky. I gave it five stars because it did what it said it would do and then some. I have only used it twice. The only thing I noticed was that it didn’t cover the roots as well as the rest. I may try it one more time and concentrate more on the roots. Also, shake the tube before you use it. It will wash out eventually if you don’t like it. I didn’t need a whole lot for it to lather nicely. It’s a small tube that will go a long way. Oh, and it did not stain my hands and a quick rinse will get it from your shower walls. I have white subway tile and it came off easily. I didn’t notice a scent one way or the other.

Works Well on Gray Hair, Less Effective on White Hair
I’ve been using this product for a couple of years now and have been mostly satisfied with the results. It does a good job of gradually reducing the appearance of gray hair, but I’ve found that it isn’t nearly as effective on hairs that have turned completely white. One thing I’ve learned through using it is that it works better if I first wash my hair thoroughly with regular shampoo to remove the oils before applying this product. I also leave it in my hair for about 10 minutes before rinsing it out. I use it about three times a week to maintain the results. Overall, I’ve been happy with it and plan to continue using it, but don’t expect it to work as well on completely white hair as it does on gray hair.

Perfect
You gotta let it sit in. I don't time it, and I have even forgotten I had it on my temples for hours. It doesn't stain the skin at all. If you use it like a regular 1 minute shampoo it'll be too subtle, like it suggests in the example, and you'll get less saturation than you potentially can. The lighter shades, in between blond and brown, is a good color. There's no red hue at all. So might as well go hard and not waste. But the first time, try the 20 minute soak just on the bottom of the temple or something, and see if it is a good color match and see how effective it is based on the time etc.

Just for Men grey reducing shampoo, for lighter shades of hair, blond/brown
I was born with white hair. It turned light brown but by the time I was thirty it was back to white. I've tried several items to color my hair, over the years, not wanting white hair. Most were messy, most didn't work very well, and so I decided I would have white hair. But, I have a 10 year old daughter. Shopping with her people would say, "are you shopping with your grandfather today" ? So I thought I would try again with this shampoo reducing grey; I've never seen a shampoo style before. This works, and I am so pleased with it. I followed the instructions and used it four nights in a row, in the shower. I have short hair so it doesn't take a lot to shampoo into my hair. I immediately wash my hands after putting it into my hair, and finish washing, watching the clock. The first night I didn't notice anything. The second night I thought I could see a little color. The third night I was sure I could see a very light brown. The forth night my hair was very light brown, just the way I wanted it. It was not messy to use. The instructions say to dry with an older towel, which I did the first night. But nothing came off onto the towel, so I just dry with my regular towel now. I do rinse very well, again, in the shower. It would be difficult to rinse that well in a bath tub. The top of my head is a little darker than the sides, probably from the way I apply it. This makes it look very natural in that every hair is not the exact same color. I'm very pleased with this product. It is easy to use, it doesn't get all over everything (like some things I have tried) and the price is reasonable. My plan is to use it once a week, to keep the roots from coming in white. I will adjust my usage as needed. I wrote this review to help you see that this product is different, easy to use, and might be what you have been looking for, as it was with me. I didn't have any chemical reaction to this product, but be sure to do the test the product recommends.

Works for Reducing Grey but may Irritate Scalp
I can say with no hesitation that this product works fantastic for reducing grey. I was really surprised at how effective it was as well as easy to use. I've seen some people say that it makes a mess, but that was not my experience at all. I simply made sure to ensure the shower was rinsed well after each use and never had an issue. I also used a black towel for drying my hair after use of the shampoo to avoid my lighter color towels from getting stained. As well as it worked, it came with some fairly harsh side effects for me. After a couple of weeks of use, I began to have a bit of scalp itching and flaking. I decided to use an additional shampoo product that was supposed to help with that issue, but it had no effect. After another couple of weeks, the scalp issues had progressed to the point that I had to stop using the product entirely. While effective at reducing grey, it's not without potential consequences. There are some fairly harsh chemicals used in this product that some (like myself) may have a reaction to, so keep this in mind if you decide to try the product.

It Works Well For Me
This stuff works – at least for me! I am not fully gray, but I have had great success with this product in keeping the grays at bay. I used to dye my hair with semi-permanent dye, but got tired of having to do it so often. For this product, I used my regular hair dye first (to give the shampoo a head start), and then started using the product regularly. I have not had to dye my hair again since starting with this shampoo, and it has been nearly a year. I am very impressed!

The best looking results, but
First of all this hair color gives the most natural looking results from anything I have tried so far. With light brown shade my hair is looking like it was 20 years ago before I turned mostly grey. It even retains the slight variation in individual hair colors that I always had and makes it impossible to even guess that my hair had color applied. A totally natural look. Amazing! But... Keep in mind following things: 1. It is mildly toxic, at least to me. After applying this shampoo I feel a slight headache and overall the feeling is if you were exposed to something mildly irritating for your system. So, yes, as the package recommends test it before the first use to see if any allergic reaction, and don't keep it applied for more than 3 minutes before washing it off. 2. It colors your fingernails and not just the tips, but entire nails become slightly darker. Though it goes away in 3 days or so, but this is not a very pleasant look. You'll probably be better off wearing disposable gloves when applying this shampoo. I would still recommend this coloring shampoo because of amazing results. Takes decades off in appearance.

Lighter shades
Lighter shades only seems available in the USA. Works well although as years go by and more grey comes through, it doesn't look as good.
