does this work with any laptop?

I just ordered and received three of these. Work great. One on a Chromebook. Ones for an older toshba laptop and the third on a newer dell notebook. All were compatible. 5 stars!

Does the scroll wheel push down as well?

Yes it does push down like if you are left button function to open pages etc.

Has anyone else's pointer started acting up after using this mouse for ~ a month?

I think I just fixed it. Here's how: 1. Turn mouse off. 2. Remove battery and wait 5 seconds. 3. Put in new battery, wait 3 seconds. 4. Turn mouse back on, wait 3 seconds. So far it's no longer automatically scrolling back up.
