I really wanted to like this book. We purchased a house last year and as various projects come up I purchase a book on the subject to either do the work myself or to gain enough knowledge to be able to communicate intelligently with the contractor. My problem with this book may be the subject matter. With so many really great videos available online for free, watching them inspires you with the confidence to tackle the job yourself. With this book , although it taught me the technical details, I would still be left daunted by the prospect of tearing down the awful drywall in my son's bedroom and hanging new sheets and taping etc ... which I have just done, and with very reasonable results.

It makes repairs more simple.
