Tiny Handcrafted Dolls
These are very cute! Perfect for countless craft applications, I have ordered Guatemalan Worry Dolls for years and sometimes the quality is...lacking. Horribly. Like gorillas put them together. These were better than the average I usually receive - the faces were still not painted properly, but what do you expect when you get 100 of something for $15/$20?? If you aren't familiar with the legend, these little handcrafted dolls are also referred to as Mayan Trouble Dolls. I will include a little information about the dolls below, but if you are pondering this purchase, I would definitely recommend them. It may seem that 100 dolls is a lot - and it is, but these are so tiny that you wind up using them up before you know it. Whether you are crafting with them, or carrying on the legend of these sweet dolls, I think you will be delighted with the fun variation these small characters have. I always find my thoughts drifting to some Himalayan mountain slightly surrounded by fog, wondering about the group of women who created these tiny masterpieces.Bottom Line: It's important to realize these are handcrafted items. They have a "folksy" feel and are very clearly constructed with minimal materials. If you are looking for tiny dolls that have perfectly painted faces, flawlessly coiffed hair, and dressed in fine duds, these are not for you. However, if you appreciate uniquely charming aspects of things created wholly by hand, you will love these. This package gives you enough to craft with and to make little Worry Doll bundles - or use all of them to create gift bundles. It's so easy to print out the legend in a nice font, place some of these in a little decorative box or bag, and then distribute them to others - a great way to brighten the spirit of those around you! I recommend these. From the University of Minnesota:The Legend of the Worry DollsWorry Dolls are tiny, hand-crafted dolls from Guatemala. The dolls are clothed in traditional Mayan costumes and standone-half to one inch tall.Guatemalan artisans bind pieces of wood together or twist together short lengths of wire to create a frame and fashion a torso, legs, arms, and head. By winding cloth and yarn around the frame, the artisans give the doll shape. They use scraps of traditional woven fabric to make the doll costumes and wind more yarn to create the head, hair, feet and hands. Sometimes, they add a tiny woven basket or other traditional implements. Finally, they place a set of 6-8 dolls in tiny wooden boxes or cloth pouches for sale. The indigenous people from the Highlands in Guatemala created Worry Dolls many generations ago as a remedy for worrying. According to the Mayan legend, when worrying keeps a person awake, he or she tells a worry to as many dolls as necessary. Then the worrier places the dolls under his or her pillow. The dolls take over the worrying for the person who then sleeps peacefully through the night. When morning breaks, the person awakens without the worries that the dolls took away during the night.A variation of the legend instructs a person to tell the dolls her worries then place them in their cloth pouch or wooden box before going to bed.

Super cute!
About as good quality as you can expect for these little dolls. I liked that there are a few different sizes. Most are the smaller, more common size, but there are also a few “medium” and “large” ones, the biggest being about an inch. And it’s fantastic for the price!

Great little dolls
I love worry dolls as I had them when I was a child. They made a great lesson to teach the kids and warmed my heart to spread the positive impact of the worry dolls.

Good quality, good price, immediate delivery. What's not to like?
See above for what I liked. Using them as part of a prize bag for bingo winners in a play, BINGO The Winning Musical. One of the bingo players in the script talks about her worry people, so we're including them in the prize bags as a part of the theme. They're a good size for our purposes, bright and colorful, and a good tie-in with our play.
