Cable Matters offers so many great cables at prices that seem to indicate they'd be poor performers. Long gone are the days where expensive cables and dongles were required to have satisfactory performance. I've found this brand to have equal or better performance than other options and it's not as disappointing to me when I lose or forget one. Perfect HDMI connection made through this Mini DisplayPort adapter. Great size and quality.

We use these with mac mini's to drive an extra ultra wide screen monitor. Since Mac mini's only have one mini display/ thunderbolt port and one hdmi output, we bought monitors with hdmi inputs. I order this HDMO mini display cable to provide HDMI resolution rom my MacBook Air to my LG 30inch widescreen monitor for work. I received the product in two days as always form Amazon and voila, the cable connector worked as advertised. I would highly recommend this product as it performed to 100 percent of it specifications which, it if you are in the IT business is rare indeed. I have a MacBook Pro now which have all the capabilities to provide straight through HDMI high resolution but this cable could still be used if I needed it for another monitor or for my wife's MaCbook air. Again, kudos to Cable Matters for providing a great product a great price.

I wanted to try a mixed reality headset but they only have HDMI inputs and my surface book laptop only has mini display port. The other HDMI adapters I tried all caused my screen to flicker. Turns out I needed an HDMI 2.0 adapter. This adapter was on the list of Microsoft recommended adapters and so far it is working great.

We have a laptop that's supposed to be VR capable, complete with an HDMI port that supports v1.4. But when we got the HP Windows Mixed Reality headset, we got an error message about the video port not working. Crossing my fingers, I ordered this device in hopes that was really the problem. I originally bought this Cable Matters 4K Mini DisplayPort to HDMI 4K Adapter for work. The adapter generally worked as expected when connected to 1080p displays/projectors, and hot plugging between my Surface Pro and my colleague's Macbook Air was reliable and trouble-free. In the few cases where 4K was available, I found that this adapter only outputted 4K @ 30 FPS. This doesn't really matter for PowerPoint, but it can be annoying if you bought this adapter for a 4K-capable HDMI monitor and were expecting 4K @ 60 FPS. There were still a few niggles with some ceiling-mounted 4K projectors, but I suspect long cables had something to do with it. If the story ended here, I would have given this product a 4-star review and that would be that. Unfortunately, I recently tried to use this adapter with the DisplayPort output of a Thunderbolt docking station and rudely discovered that it was not compatible. The issue has more to do with the DisplayPort specification where the same connector might or might not support dual-mode operation, but Cable Matters isn't entirely off the hook either because they didn't use VESA's corresponding branding to indicate this product's functionality. The proper logo in this case would be DP++, indicating that this adapter is NOT compatible with vanilla DP sources like my Thunderbolt dock. Cable Matters isn't the only company that does this, but frankly, I feel it's somewhat misleading to associate this product with "Thunderbolt" branding or functionality. There's nothing "Thunderbolt" about this thing other than the fact that has a mini-DP connector, which happens to be the same connector used by Thunderbolt 2-equipped Macs. This adapter never actually operates in Thunderbolt mode; it's strictly a DisplayPort device. The solution to my problem was to buy an Active DP to HDMI Adapter, which costs quite a bit more, but they are also way more capable. An Active DP to HDMI Adapter can support 4K @ 60 FPS and some higher end models can even support HDR, etc. It's kind of late now, but I do hope that companies that build these adapters will use the proper logos to describe their capabilities, so everyone can avoid unwelcome surprises.

This is a very well made and performing adapter. I was having issues, losing my display on my Mac Mini for hours at a time over the course of about a year. I did some research and found that an OS upgrade and using HDMI connection was probably the cause of my issue. I received this adapter during a display blackout. Without turning off the Mac Mini i installed the adapter and was happy to see it resoled my problem! Beyond that I noticed a sharer and clearer monitor display. Awesome adapter highly recommended if you are attaching a non-Apple monitor to your Apple!

This works for the Oculus Rift to plug it into my laptop's graphics card when it would not work with just that HDMI port. I tried another one before this, but that didn't work. This works perfectly. Worth the price and delivery was next working day.

MacBook Air Mid 2013で2560×1440 60Hzで問題なく使えています。 ケーブルは若干細めで径5mm位、長さは両コネクタに端から端までで220mm位です。 ケーブルの硬さはやはりそれなりにあります、少し細いの若干ましかな、という程度です。 Mini DisplayPortコネクタのモールドがスッキリしたデザインで PCに接続した時に威圧感が無くスマートに見えます。 デザインも性能等も良く、私の中ではCable Matters社のケーブルがデファクトスタンダードになりつつあります。
