OEMTOOLS 25192 5 Inch 2-in-1 Wire Cutter and Stripper

I purchased these because they seem to be a good idea, combining two jobs in one tool. I was really just looking for some small diagonal cutting pliers. The price seemed good too.Unfortunately the spring action to pull the wire stripper into place requires a lot of force to close the cutting blade and then it springs quickly closed. This makes it hard to keep the cutters in place for an accurate cut. The extra force also means you can't strip small stranded wire with the stripping tool. I have found that at least on the cutting side I can squeeze half way and then accurately place the blade for the cut before closing it down.I will keep these around but I will be looking for an excuse to pick up a 1-in-1 tool that does the job well. I might also remove one or both springs. That will disable the stripper but might make the cutter more usable.Update: I removed one of the springs and these became much more useful as Wire Cutters.

Nice light wire strippers. Don'texpect these to work well on larger gauge wire, but for the small light stuff they work great. Makes cutting and stripping wire fast and easy. A big step up from the simple set of traditional pliers.

These are crap. The strippers usually end up cutting the wire and to use them as just snips is incredible annoying with the double detent from the strippers. Great concept in theory... terrible for practical use.

Great product worked as designed

My boyfriend showed me these tools, they're so handy to use we bought a few. this blue one is a lot bigger than the standard red ones you'll find. But you're able to cut larger gauge wire, I personally like these more then the squeeze cube style ... sorry I don't know what else to call it but hopefully you know what I mean. Although if you're doing a lot of wiring you will prefer the other style. But for small jobs and single wires this is great
