Good Information
"Fight Diabetes" is a comprehensive book, but I found it a bit on the scholarly side. That is not bad if you are into science and research, but I found parts of it hard to understand. There are many studies cited and lots of charts, especially in the back of the book. Personally I lack a background in analyzing research studies so I found much of this book hard to understand. The author does present a good scientific argument recommending the use of vitamins and antioxidants. He covers things like oxidative stress and inflammation and how they relate to diabetes, the antioxidant defense system, why we need supplements studies related to the search for prevention of diabetes, an analysis of current clinical studies, diabetes prevention and management and his recommendations.I'm sure this book would be a great guide for professionals who work with diabetic patients a lot. -- Valerie Lull, Author, Ten Healthy Teas

If you want all the medical details
I was sad about the contents about this book. I wanted to be told a list of vitamins and antioxidants that would help, but the majority of the book was about testing and how the author came to the conclusions - only the conclusions were vague at best. Even those who have diabetes are not exactly the same - age, gender, etc. influence what you need and this didn't address it at all. It looked and was described as a book for the consumer, but really, it reads like a medical report for industry folks.

We all need to be professionals when it comes to our health
Fight Diabetes with Vitamins and AntioxidantsBy Kedar N. Prasad, PhDISBN: 978-1-62055-166-0 (Healing Arts Press, 2014)We all know that we should take vitamins and antioxidants, but very few people can explain to us exactly why and for what reason. Admittedly this book is geared more for the professional with at least a basic understanding of nutrition; however, I think that most of us can agree that in today's world we should all become professionals when it comes to our health. With the direction that the health industry has gone and its cost, it is clear that we need to take control of our health. I can guarantee you one thing—if you take just a fraction of the time that you will take dealing with diabetes and read this book, you will save yourself a world of problems. I loved this book, as I like the idea of taking control of my destiny and myself.Dhara Lemos, Lotus Guide
