AC Infinity AIRFRAME T7 Black, High-Airflow Cooling Fan System 400mm

Bought this product in late April of 2018, and this morning the LCD screen went dead. I can barely read anything on the screen now and what I cam see is an extremely faint flickering number and letters. I tried to increase the brightness but nothing happens. This product still works, but with a dead screen it now is limited to the last settings that were configured.

I liked this a lot, so much that I ordered the intake version to use to cool the room and replace the grill ventilation. I have this to reduce the hot air generated by a server in a room. When it is at max speed you can hear it from afar, but it's not a very uncomfortable noise and it's on a corridor outside, so not a big deal. My only wish was that it would be Matter-compatible so I could use some automation for the temperature control. That said, its internal automation for adjusting fan speed according to the temperature works like a charm.

I have a powerfull computer under my desk that creates a lot of heat that gets trapped in that area so I needed a solution to evacuate all that hot air. Finding teh T7 was a blessing I was browsing for fans to make a custom solution when I found this product, It works as intended. I have it configured to start automatically when the temperature under my desk reach 85 degrees and so far it works flawlessly turning on and off by itself as needed. It can be a little noisy at full speed. It is easy to install if you are handy and have the right tools but it can be a mess if you dont know what you are doing and depending on the material you have to cut out. The product includes a template that makes it easier to align properly.

I bought this along with the extra grill to cool a small server closet housing just one PC. It's made well, it's almost a work of art. The display and programming did exactly what I needed. The only problem is the fans and how loud they are. They are rated at 23dB, but I assume that was measured at fan setting 1 (of 6), where it's not moving enough air. I measured it at 38dB with the sounds of my home office and the closet closed, which would be fine, but once you increase the fan speed, it gets too loud, increasing to 63dB at 8 feet on fan setting 6. That's louder than all 9 fans currently in my PC combined. This would be a stellar option with higher quality fans, but I can't justify cutting a hole in a wall with the noise it makes (and that's not counting the ticking noise from one bad fan). I had to return it, and will be doing a passive solution.

This product appears to be very high quality, I love the look and feel. It's super quiet. Has speeds 1 to 6, evn on full speed you can barely hear it. I'm returning it, unfortunately, because the fan output isn't enough for my application. I'm building a "home network closet" on the first floor of my home. I want to mount a thermostatically controlled exhaust fan between two studs and "push" the hot air from the closet approximately 9 feet between into the basement. The fans in this unit were probably never designed for an application like that. They just don't provide the air flow to accomplish that.
