Canada Green Grass Seed - 6 Pound Bag

I live in the high desert area of NW Colorado, my soil here is terrible - but this grass seed mixture grows like magic here & it grows fast! I used the recommended setting on the spreader to put the seed down and it grew very fast but it was kinda sparse, so I used a setting 3 times higher on my spreader than recommended in a different area and it came in fast and thick! The issue of the grass growing kinda thin / sparse is probably due to my bad soil conditions. But this is really beautiful grass and it was visible in only 8 days! I recommend using a sprinkler timer and setting it to 7 minutes every hour for the first few weeks.

I love this seed. It grows quickly and fills in the bald patches.

I live in eastern Washington, right on the river. I have an all sand only yard. The temperatures there this summer have reached 105 degrees F. I have used the Canada green two different ways... the first was just tossing the seed on the raked sand and the second I made up a mixture of topsoil and peat moss and covered some seed with that. ( I DID NOT use much of that either ) I now have a beautiful lawn after 1 month. It did work better with the soil mixture on top to assist the growth, but it did grow just in the sand as well. ( just not as thick ) I water the lawn with a timer every 12 hours for 15 minutes. It has only been 1 month, but so far I love it. I do not know how it will handle the snow this winter, but I will let you know. I only hope it will hold up to its advertisement! KT

This is a product that works as advertised. I have used this seed for about 4-5 years, and am truly satisfied. I live in an area that is very hot in the summer, and cold and rainy in the winter. I have 3 small dogs that just love to run and play in this thick green grass year round. The seed grows grass in winter, spring, and fall as directions says. I recommend this product from 2lb bag, to larger 6lb or larger size bags depending on lawn size, and conditions. If your lawn is sparse, spotty in places this seed is guaranteed to grow grass, and keep your grass green year around.

This seed grows very fast and is hearty for six weeks and then starts to die. The company must have changed the seed mix. It must be primarily Annual Rye rather than Perennial. I have been a customer of Canada Green for over ten years, having great success, but the last two years have not yielded me the results as in the past. This has happened two years in a row. I live in PA. I have reseeded with a Penn State Mix and the lawn is recovering. Please note. If you mix Canada Green with another type of perennial seed mix, you may be happy with the results, as the fast growth crowds out weeds. Although, when it dies, the weeds take over. For me, I am done with Canada Green.

A fast fix not so permanent fix. I bought this for a fast solution to a muddy erosion area to keep the dogs from getting muddy paws all spring & fall. It worked well for that. Came in fast and really I didn't do much but toss it on the ground & let the rain water it initially. Then later sprinklers. It died out in heavy Texas heat & intense sun/drought but $100 in the fall & spring kept my floor clean and our sanity in check. I'm sure if we had been more diligent with watering it would have lasted longer. This particular items is not the real thing from As Seen on TV. Ratio's of mix are different a bit. At the end of the day neither the "real" thing nor this has been perfect but it grows grass and it does come in fast & stay green when other grasses are dormant.

Very happy with results. I raked the soil and lightly covered seeds. I am extremely pleased with this product. Only half of area is done because I have my herb garden and need to water ever other day. Once grass is strong enough to mow then I can do the other side. The only thing I don’t know is if it will survive the Florida summer. I will post pictures after summer is done. I still have to do the area around pool once the construction end. 6 lb bag is more than enough for the areas I have to cover.

This seeds VERY well and super fast compared to other seed we have tried! I want to buy more!
