Love The Facts, Photos, and Fun!
I love the facts, photos, and fun that this item provided for me to discuss with my grandkids. I traveled to Cairo, Egypt a few weeks ago and wish that I had purchased this prior to my trip. However, it is still timely and perfectly compliments the photos that I took while there. It is very educational for my grandkids and other kids that I discuss Ancient Egypt with. I highly recommend this book/magazine.

Great book
2nd grader loves it! Lots of good info. Font is pretty small, so hard to read in low light, but it's geared for a bit older kids anyway.

LOVE IT!
I bought this for my classroom (6th grade ancient history), but I literally had to smuggle it out of my house under the dark of night (ok, 6am darkness) so my own kids (aged 4 and 6) wouldn't know it was gone. They LOVE this book. We used to spend nights reading Fancy Nancy and Skippyjon Jones, but now they repeatedly request the "Egypt book" - and so we look at the amazing color photos, the incredible artist renderings, and the interesting collage-style facts that this book is filled with. Even the gruesome photos of the mummies (and there are several!) aren't too disgusting for my kids, and they are nicely arranged by brightly colored images of death masks and what the Pharaohs may have dressed like in life so they aren't too overpowering. There are so many interesting facts in this book that even I learned a lot - and I teach an entire unit on Ancient Egyptian history! Yes, this is a fabulous book, and I can't wait to get the Castle book in the same series. Will this book work as a single source for an Egyptian history project - no, probably not, but it's format makes it kid friendly and easy to read a few pages, glean some cool information, and hit the sack without feeling like you've filled your head with too much fluff. (The one downside was that it started falling apart WAY too quickly - the binding just wasn't put together very well - but I imagine this is probably a solitary issue and not something that happens across the board with all of these books. It would have been nicer in hardcover, but I'm a hardcover book snob!)

... learning about ancient thing so I knew she would love this book
My daughter loves Egypt & learning about ancient thing so I knew she would love this book! We got it for her for Christmas & of course she loves it! It's very educational & teaches a lot! Today she brought it to school for sharing to show others about the Nile River. It's a great book at a great price! I was a bit disappointed however in that the binding of the book broke off & I had to glue it back on but for the book & her joy, it was worth it!

Very cool for any kid that likes ancient Egypt.
Super cool book for a variety of ages. Lots of cool pics and facts. Some of the facts are a bit more detailed and probably better for 7 to 10 year olds but my 6 year old and I read it and I read the ones that are simple and summarize the others and we look at all the pics. We've read this a zillion times.

A nice selection of colorful photos
It fulfills keeping the interest of a three year old boy with a fascination with pyramids and mummies. At this point we are looking at the photos, and not reading the text.
