Hormel Beef Tamales 15 Oz (8 Pack)

My husband and I love these & the price buying it this way is a lot cheaper. Plus its hard to find in some stores.

I love these tamales, Not as good as hand made, home made but still give me the tamale taste I am craving. Easy to heat up, texture and filling are great, size is ok smaller than the hand made but still good.

I think these are passible. Has a canned taste and texture, but I like it over chili to give chili an added layer of texture. By itself it needs some help: cheese, ground pepper, maybe some hot sauce. I dont know... just seems lacking. Good enough, but doesnt quite do it for me. Even so I will go with 4 stars (3.5 if I could). Open can, take out tamales. There are six of them. Unwrap them (quick and easy to do). Plenty of left over sauce/liquid to do something with. Heat in skillet, oven, or microwave.

I was very pleased with the condition of my order of 8 pack Hormel Beef Tamales. They arrived in perfect condition, 8 cans solidly packed in a box, heat wrapped in plastic. The tamales are as I remember them from years ago. Delicious. I place 3 tamales plus some sauce in a sauté pan, either wrapped or unwrapped, and heat over medium heat for only a few minutes. The sauce is very good, tasty and not spicy. The tamales themselves are tender with a very smooth flavor. I will purchase these again.

The product is good. Pretty tasty with a good chili sauce. What killed it in getting a higher rating is the way this company stuffs the tamale into the can most vicious way they are shoved into the can. If you plan to showcase them in your meal to ooh ahhhh your guests at dinner forget it. They are broken, misshapen twisted, and one even look like a shrimp. Then you unwrap them to find broken pieces. Many broken tamale pieces. Remember the dog food packed in its own gravy? There you have it. Not much for presentation. However if your eating by yourself you most likely will enjoy seeing as you will know what it is.

Only Hormel. They just are better in every way.
