ACCUPLACER For Dummies with Online Practice Tests

I love that there’s a one year subscription to online practice test and the book also really walks you through the answers (especially helpful for math). I’m actually doing work I did not learn in high school.

I'm an adult student returning to school. I have gone through countless books on this subject. Most books I've tried have so much useless verbiage, that it is hard to read through and makes you feel discouraged. This book was written to not make the reader feel intimidated by the subject. This book gets right to the point. If you want to pass the Accuplacer with a high score, this book tells you how in a clear and concise way. It even goes so far as to show you how to schedule your study time so that you will be ready to take the test. I am happy I purchased this. I just scheduled my study times for myself each day. I gave myself a month to be ready to take the test and I feel confident I will pass. The author, Mark Zegarelli did a great job in putting this book together. I was one of those people that wanted to go back to school, but couldn't find the right study guide. This one is it!

I use the Dummies books to support tutoring adults...these are THE only choice to “get it done”.Accuplacer, GRE, Postal Exam, ASVAB...the Dummies books are MUCH better than any other prep. The Dummies books not only teach you how to do the work, such as solving fraction problems, but they tell you how to approach each test. They talk about test-specific strategy: pen & paper vs CAT versions/timed sub-tests/timed overall test completion/I timed tests/ how to approach items that you don’t known and increase your chance of success/when to answer a question and when to leave it and move on.They also have great paper practice tests.I did have trouble accessing the online version of this specific (Accuplacer) test, but I believe it may have been because I was able to get the current edition of this book prior to it’s official release date. hopefully It can be accessed now .Nevertheless, even without the online test access, it is SO useful I still give this book 5 stars.PS...I am a real human, and NOT paid/rewarded for any endorsement...just a teacher who tutors for free on the side to‘Pay It forward”.😊🌺

My son and I went through the entire math section of this book over the summer to prepare for the math placement test at the community college. He successfully placed into Precalculus on his first try. I was afraid the placement was too high because he hadn't taken Algebra II, but he easily earned an A in the Precalculus class. I believe he did so well in Precalculus because of the excellent foundation given in this book. The instruction is excellent with step-by-step examples and practice problems. The online tests familiarized him with the experience of taking a computerized test. Highly recommend this book.

I suck at math but after studying from this book I placed in calculus for math. Worked a little too well haha

The media could not be loaded.  I downloaded this book specifically for help with the math portion which should be chapter 10. In an earlier part, there's a study schedule where you click that chapter. However, It simply brings you to the end of the book which is the second page of chapter 7. No matter what you do, it ends there.So... I spent 18.00 for an ebook missing a good portion of the described product. I'm really disappointed. This book and the reviews seemed like a great way to prepare for the Accuplacer. I really needed and was excited for the Math portion and it's not there.Jessica

I am 49yo and haven't been in a classroom in 31 years. I am headed back to school this fall and needed to take placement tests. I bought this book last week and took the test today and qualified for pre-calculus and Honors freshman English. Way beyond what I needed to do. What the WHAT? That is how good this book is, it literally taught me what I needed to know and it went great. Thank you.

The content of the book seems thorough from first glance, but we purchased this for the online test access. The link is no longer valid. I will be returning this book. Tried to contact the company directly and it was tough to access them.
