SUUNTO MCB: Simple sighting mirror compass that floats

This is my second suunto of this type after losing my old one. As a field archaeologist this does the job for keeping on your transect in the field. It works just as well as the more expensive version with the aluminum case.

My go to compass for field work. It is durable and easy to use! This is my second of this exact model (the first broke after several years of heavy daily use and abuse) and would definitely recommend and purchase again should the need arise.

So far am pleased with what I see. We just bought this little compass and have not had the chance to use it on the open water. I like the fact that it is light and floats and his bright yellow. The color definitely makes it easy to find. Probably the only dislike is that it is very tiny. My husband has big hands and it's hard for him to hold it… But on the other hand very easy for me to hold as a lady! The viewer itself is a good size, it is just the overall size of the compass that is small. Will try to make a review after we use it on the open water in a few weeks. On a sidenote, one of the reviewer's comment about how it took too long to level out. So I will tell him that if he were using this on land… That's a problem. but on the water a little stability of the fluid is marvelous!

I was really glad I ordered a new compass! I thought I lost the one I had, but now I have two just in case! I love the ease of use and I can see the numbers,!

A forester for 40 years. Used this compass, never liked the Silva mirror compasses, used to run land lines, cruise timber and keep from getting lost, very accurate and lots lighter than the let metal version.

High quality, good accuracy. Using this to align antenna azmiuths. I wish suunto would make a affordable digital version of this tool that could connect to a gps satelite, as the steel on towers can throw this tool off.

I bought 2 kb-20's and 2 kb-14's to decide on accuracy and fondness. One kb-20 was a couple degrees off. I settled on a higher price kb14. The 14's disc seems to glide smoother, and appears to handle a little better angling up or down, a tiny bit; and comes with a simple soft belt Velcro pouch and separate lanyard string. The kb-20 comes with an integrated black neck string. It also has mid-degree marks if that's what you want (on kb-14). Here's a picture through the kb-20 peephole because I didn't see anyone else have a clear one. You might be able to find better prices elsewhere, but maybe shipping cost would end up being the same.

C'est pas un gadget, Suunto est une marque réputée. la boussole se stabilise rapidement, le pointage est ultra précis (après suivant où on est il faut convertir le nord magnétique avec le nord géographique) elle est global c'est a dire quelle fonctionnera correctement dans les deux hémisphères si vous allez en Australie où en Nouvelle Zélande par exemple. Il manque plus que des indicateurs phosphorescents mais sur ce type de boussole c'est inutile et superflu, c'est le genre de boussole qu'on utilise pas de nuit.

Las brújulas Suunto siempre son una apuesta segura. La brújula es muy cómoda de llevar y utilizar. Es muy precisa (precisión de 0.5º) y estable aunque quizás por la densidad del líquido y usar un disco en vez de aguja no es muy rápida y tarda un poco en estabilizarse completamente.
