All the stories and more that I remember from my childhood, with high quality illustrations. While the 1950s language of the stories seems quaint now, it doesn't seem to matter when reading them to a 4 year old who loves trains. Hopefully it will be a reading source for a few years yet.

Arrived ahead of time and way better then I imagined
Arrived ahead of time and way better then I imagined. Brought back a lot of childhood memories and replaces the collection my late Grandfather bought me many years ago which I cannot remember if I gave away or lost. These books are so good its going to be hard to pass it down to my own children one day.

Beautiful set, great price on a deal
There have been several sets in recent years but for me this has the nicest box illustration, and the books themselves have also received a slight redesign, consisting of bright blocked colours as opposed to the black spines of before, though my partner has questioned if the font has also been changed so this may not be one for purists, despite the original illustrations being present in the books themselves. It's a beautiful set which my partner was over the moon with, having never had a set of his own as a child. For £24 on Black Friday it was an absolute bargain, though I don't think I'd ever pay the RRP due to the high availability of such classic children's books in the second hand market, and the fact that it's a lot to pay for books a small child may destroy, hence I'm sure this box having an image which is more appealing to adults than previous collections.

Beautiful little books
Beautiful set. 18 month old daughter loves getting the books all out of the box and looking at the bright pictures. The books are small, just the right size for her little hands. Has all the original stories (so very nostaligic!) and lovely illustrations. Great gift for little ones.

Lovely keepsake
A beautiful set to keep for for ever and pass down generations. Bought as a gift and went down very well. Will give years of enjoyment!

A good reproduction of the original railway series. Has all the original pictures and the text hasn't been modernized.

Wonderful
I gave this to my son as a 2nd-grade graduation present, and he absolutely loves it. Granted, he is a Thomas fanatic, but this is such a nice collection of W. Awdry's Railway Series books. If only they'd make the same thing for Christopher Awdry's 16 Railway Series books too!
