Really Impressed with the Power and Clarity
I am not typically one for purchasing an amp to run both my highs and lows, and prefer to split it across multiple amps. For my wife's car though, she really didn't want a lot of extra equipment in her new CRV and wanted it as close to factory looking in all areas so I had to just go ahead and get the 5 channel amp. Installation was as easy as every Alpine amp. All of the terminals are great quality and really bite and hold on the wires so I know nothing will slip out. Tuning is a breeze and I barely had to tough the gains at all to get this amp just screaming, easily 3x more powerful than the factory 200w system in there before. The 5th channel for the sub was also equally impressive with it's power output. Powering an aftermarket 8" sub, custom molded into a factory enclosure, you would think there was a 12" sitting in the cargo area. The main thing I was super impressed with was just how smooth and even the highs and lows stay together at all volume levels. I don't think I will ever buy anything outside of the Alpine family again, unless they just simply don't make what I'm looking for.

Great Amp
i've had it installed for almost a year and it has performed flawlessly. i am running 2 5x8's in my front doors and 2 5 inch coaxial speakers in the rear doors as well as 2 10 inch "Infinity" subs with this one amp and it has not disappointed at all! i have it mounted behind my rear seat in a 2016 F150 super cab and it has yet to have any heat issues what so ever! great amp for the price and plenty of power. crystal clean sound too! i would buy again!

Great Amp!
Purchased this amp to replace an Alpine MRV-F300 4ch because I wanted to add a sub. This amp is driving four Alpine Type-S speakers and an Alpine SBR-S8-4 8" sub. The sound is clean to levels that I would never go to, so it has more than enough power for the casual setup. Installation and setup was easy, but I did already have an Alpine amp in place, so that simplified matters. There is a bit of hiss, but thats more likely the fault of the factory head unit and the use of high level inputs than the amp itself.

Channel 2 is unfunctional. I'd so have given this 5 stars if it was functional. Small footprint and plenty of power.

Very solid product. Ease of install depends on your vehicle.
This is a very solid unit. It feels solid and delivers good sound. I bought it to replace the blown amp in a 2010 Mazda 3S. That car came equipped with a BOSE sound system. You can use the MRV-V500 to replace that BOSE unit. The issue is making the connections between the car's head unit and the MRV. It is not the fault of the MRV. It is just a little difficult. I chose to keep the stock audio connectors on the car. To do that I had to remove the male end of the connectors from the blown BOSE unit. I removed them from the board, then soldered my leads to those connectors. Now the cable I made just plugs into the car's stock connectors. You could cut the stock wires off and then extend the wires to mate up with the MRV, but I just didn't want to do that. The other issue I found was that the MRV will not fit under the seat if you use the Mazda stock bracket. The MRV is too tall to fit on that bracket and still have the bracket fit in the car. I ended up making my own bracket. It worked out fine. It just was not plug and play. I still gave this amp a 5 rating because it is very solid, works right away and delivers nice sound. It is also cheaper than getting a replacement BOSE amp and having it installed. You could get one out of a junk yard, but you will not know how long it will last (and end up having the same problem again). Overall, I had a lot of fun creating my own connector and bracket and installing the unit. I would definitely recommend it which is why I rated it 5 stars but gave it 4 for installation. Not that hard. Just takes time.

I've been an alpine fan ever since I started installing their products, I was a custom automotive audio, video nav.alarm installer for 15 years that's why I knew what I was getting when I purchased this MRV-V500, it's packed with quality and power.I'm running a 10 inch Kicker compR subwoofer in a sealed .8 cubic ft. enclosure to go with the alpine mids and highs, I don't have a high SPL but sound quality is there, this is what matters to me. By the way, a Rockford Fosgate 1 farad cap is helping out my system.
