A .22lr would actually make the target plates flip up where as the low power of my pellet rilfle does not. The steel is more then thick enough to handle the impact from a 40 grain lead .22 bullet. As with any steel target, make sure you use it where a glancing bullet won't interact with anything. Steel targets always cause lead bullets to splatter a bit. This is NOT designed for the more powerful .22 cal center fire rounds. It is strictly for .22 Lr rim fire and lighter rounds. It is not designed for rim fire magnum rounds. **Q: What is the diameter of the targets?** A: Guessing about 2 to 2.5 inches **Q: Slingshot compatible?** A: No, not even close. I saw .22 and bought it for my Gammo air rifle and it doesn't barely move it. The .22 is for a powder cartridge where it probably works as intended.
