– IQRV3 Self-Optimizing Router with Dual Band WiFi adapts to Your line for Improved Quality

I have been using the IQrouter v3 for a few weeks now. It is replacing a Netgear R7000 and connected to my Windstream provided Arris DG2460.1. With one caveat, performance is better than with the R7000 and DG2460 combo2. Bufferbloat on my Windstream 100 Mbps cable line dropped from over a second to sub-50ms latencies, and is generally in the 20ms range.3. DSLReports Speedtest is a great way to test your bufferbloat and internet access performance. I went from an F on bufferbloat and quality to an A and A+ respectively by switching to the IQrouter v3.4. The IQRouter UI is very easy to use. The setup wizard worked great.a . The hardest part of the setup was configuring my Windstream provided Arris DG2460 to allow the IQRouter to sit in the DMZ. Evenroute.com has documentation for handful for ISP devices but not the DG2460.5. One of the things Evenroute does not advertise enough is the fact that the IQrouter runs a recent version of Linux and is currently on the 4.14 kernel with latest security patches. My Arris DG2460 has not been updated since 2015 and requires ISP interaction. The R7000 has well documented challenges with its latest firmware.6. The IQrouter dashboard is very useful for understanding line speeds and how the IQRouter is managing your bandwidth.a. One important thing to note, the IQrouter takes some time to find the best configuration for your network. You can track its progress on the dashboard. The IQrouter automatically identified my ISP and how much bandwidth it had to work with.b. The dashboard is also useful for understanding line drops. Since installing the IQrouter, I have lost network connectivity 3 times and received a couple of unstable line change alerts. It is a very easy way to see how stable your ISP connection is.8. The IQrouter also automatically setup my UPnP redirect.9. I run both a corporate VPN and personal VPN on a number of devices. So far, I have had no issues doing everything I need to do over VPN.10. Internal streaming from my media PC to my Apple TV and from services like Amazon Prime, Netflix and Disney+ work great.As to the caveat, the 5 GHz wireless AC signal strength is not as strong as the signal on my R7000. This could be a temporary condition as Evenroute has informed me that have a firmware patch coming in the next few weeks that should address some of the signal strength issues. I, also, understand they plan to introduce WPA3 in the near future giving the IQrouter v3 an additional security boost.

UPDATE 10-04-22A few weeks ago I woke up one morning and the IQ router was not receiving a data connection signal from the cable modem. I unpluged the IQ router gave it 30 seconds and still it was not giving me any kind of signal Wi-Fi or even Hardline to my computer.I contacted customer support with my problem and within 24 hours, I received this incredible email on tech support. I followed the simple instructions they gave me on how to factory reset the IQ router and even recreate the startup for internet interface. But sadly nothing was working I tried everything I even went above and beyond.It was only 60 days old and they offered me a refund or even a swap out.I'm gladly taking the swap out because this little unit is a champ for online gaming. My ping is super low even with two or three devices on at a time. Outstanding product, you need this!I received an email today that they received the unit and yes it was a dead ethernet port.My new IQ router ships out tomorrow.Before the IQ router I was using the Netgear XR 1000. What I like about the xr1000 it has the operating program called Duma OS. Which allowed me to pick the server that I wanted to play multiplayer games on. What I loved about it, it actually showed me if I'm on a dedicated server, a peer host server and what location I was connected to. But with every good thing the xr1000 always had such a high ping Spikes. No matter what I tried to set the bufferbloat, I would always get these super high ping spikes into the 800 to 1,000.When I first opened up the box for the IQ router. It's super small lightweight it doesn't even have an on and off power switch you just plug it in.Follow the directions that it comes with to help you set everything up and the software will start detecting your connection line and will perform a speed test. Follow the steps you'll be able to set up your Wi-Fi and your password etc.I let it do its thing for the next couple days because it starts optimizing your line throughout the day and night. Honestly I'm pretty blown away from the results for only $100 router. My ping spikes are absolutely GONE!. I have two TVs running Netflix, Hulu and Disney plus and I have two computers and two Xboxes.My only issue is on my PC, I cannot get open port to save my life. They both say moderate for Xbox live PC and I tried everything from setting up Port forwards, I just can't seem to get it open. But on my Xboxes the ports are open.Overall I'm pretty satisfied with my purchase. I just hope this thing lasts for a long time. I also raised up the router just a couple inches so that the heat can dissipate a lot better from underneath.My internet ISP provider is Xfinity and it's paired up with an SB6183.And I get all my speed 350 down and 12up.And I play PUBG, Warzone and Gears 5 and so far my experience has been Amazing.
