Just hold the meter within a few inches of an outlet, power cord, appliance, etc and it will beep if there's live voltage. **Q: How do you measure the voltage in a tire as show in the display?** A: That pic with the tire is probably from step-up multimeter model which has temperature measurement feature with thermo-sensor placed at the end of wire connected to multimeter, so pic shows how to measure temperature of hot tire. But this multimeter does not have that temperature feature (that model cost about 25$). **Q: Ranges are 600 mv to 750V and 1000V, Will it measure voltages below 600mv?** A: It will measure down to 0.01mV in both - AC and DC modes, thou manual says - 0.1mV. **Q: Does anyone know where to get a better user manual? The one that came with the unit is translated English and parts of it are unclear.** A: Download the 18+ manual from the Fluke website. This is a cheaper knockoff of the Fluke 18+ (wish I'd bought that instead - they actually support their products) but quite similar, so the Fluke manual is some help.
