Zhuhai Premium Ceramic Knife Set Includes 4" Paring Knife, 5 1/2" Chef's Knife, 6" Chef's Knife and Block

The knives are impressive with their sharp edges & the Block they come with. My wife was cutting a squash with the Chef's Knife & it broke off at the handle in the squash, so if you stay with softer foods, they will probably be OK. If you try cutting harder foods like melons, squashes & etc, they will probably break.

I purchased these knives for my father for Christmas because he was admiring my ceramic knives that I have. I figured this would be a good set for him. It is now May and there is only 1 knife that is still in 1 piece. The first knife broke about 3 months after purchasing the set. My wife was cutting a stick of butter that was taken out of the refrigerator. When she cut into the stick of butter the end of the knife about 1" worth of blade snapped off. The second knife broke just 3 days ago. This knife was pathetic, it actually broke when my mom had just hand washed it and she was drying the knife off with a kitchen towel. Naturally, because the knife is sharp she was being careful with it and not being rough with it and once again the end of the knife broke off. These knives were never placed in the dishwasher they were also carefully handled. Never left in the sink with other items set on them.They were always cleaned after use. Needless to say this was a very disappointing and rather embarrassing purchase. Here not even 6 months later the knives are all but gone.

This is my first ceramic knife set. I have been using them daily for about 9 months. First thing you realize is that they are very light. Second, they are sharp. You may have to change your slicing style and forget about the back and forth sawing motion. I mention it because it is a little strange in the beginning that the knife slices through a tomato or potato with a single move. Over the months they got a bit dull but still much better than any knife I owned before. Another thing I want to mention, like almost all the other reviewers mentioned, is that these knives are fragile. I dropped one on the tile floor and it broke into a thousand pieces like a piece of glass. The block that comes with the set is perfect for protecting your knives, it looks good too. Don't forget to unscrew the block and clean it once in a while because the water dripping from the knives keeps accumulating (if you put them in the block without drying). In summary, It is clear that your kids are not gonna inherit this set but I am sure you will enjoy using them.

Just tried these out. Have been using over a year now and they are as good as any other average set of knives. Good price. I might try expensive set to see what's up. These do chip and you need to be more careful with them.

This three-knife set features a good array of cutting tools, housed in a lucite holder. The knives work well, and cut through anything easily. I rated it a 4 because the handles are a bit light weight and do not provide the solid grip that I prefer.

Pretty sharp but one blade broke after just a few days. I have the Kyocera brand that is much better.

I had purchased one of those "as seen on tv" ceramic knives and found it was great, so when I see a set that would complement the ceramic knife I already had, I ordered it. They look good and the base/stand is a little cheesy, but that's not important. What is important is that these knives are not really sharp. As an example of their dullness, I "tried" to slice a pickle and found myself sawing on the pickle before it actually cut into it. My old ceramic knife cut through the same pickle like it was butter. I don't know where the premium is, but it ain't in the knife. I would have sent them back, but the box was trashed before they were really tested.

I bought this set to see what all the hype was about regarding ceramic knives. When I first pulled the knives from their package, one dropped on our tile floor-no chips : ) I have used them several times now and am so pleased with them! They make it so easy for me to cut through ANYthing-and clean up with no fuss. This set in particular is nice because these 3 knives are sized perfectly for anything I want to cut and after rinsing and drying, they slip easily into the clear block. Granted I am not a professional chef, but for day to day meal preparation, these are perfect-and the price was extraordinary for the quality! I highly recommend them. Anyone other than professionals will find them a great purchase!
