Very well made it, thanks for the usb connector it is fast, for an external small DVD writer, works very well, as any ASUS product, I used for burn DVDs and for Boot Laptops and windows Tablets and till now this has worked very well for me, it is thinner and looks very nice, easy to take any where, very good choice, I made a good choice on this one.

This is an excellent external/portable CD/DVD drive. It is silent, fast and lightweight. It hooks up easily to my older MacBook Pro and works effortlessly. It does not require an external power source, which is also very helpful when traveling. Not every CD/DVD drive works with the older MacBook Pro's, and I have had a few bad purchases. For the money, this one is a winner!

This little drive is working so well. Perfect for my iMac...only have to plug in one of the usb cords. No recognition problem, but it does not come up automatically; only when you insert a DVD/CD. Burns and transfers at faster rate than the built-in drive in my computer. I am very pleased with it.

It's an adequate CD burner. A bit on the slow side but it works.

The item came well packed including all supplies for proper function. However, first thing I noticed while opening the box was that on the top side were dents and scratches. Not happy with it. Will return it back and I am not interested in replacement!

got this for my teen daughter to use with her macbook air. I didn't realize you need to plug in 2 (TWO) USB ports at the same time to run this thing. Not at all practical - and barely possible, even with an extension for one of the ports - it just is cords all over. Really a pain. The tray is difficult to operate. I highly recommend you skip this if you have macbook air - it will be pure frustration. Unless you have an impossibly tight budget, won't use it often, and/or are not sensitive to the design and aesthetics of a device, hold off until you can buy one w/o a tray and with one USB. The Apple device is a winner.

Very cool item. I plugged into 2 USB ports via USB hub interfacing with Windows 8.1, and it worked great. Very compact. I did not test writing CD/DVD but reading is fine. Cool product.

Does not work on late 2013 MacBook Pro using powered usb hub. When plugged in directly to USB port on MacBook Pro, then drive appears and I can play CDs. But if I must also plug the second USB cord (which is only 5 inches long) to my MacBook Pro to record CDs or DVDs, then I'm screwed as the 2 USB ports on the new MacBook Pro are on different sides of the laptop, and the short 5 inch USB cord is too short to plug in.
