Great yoga mat! I love the color and feel of it. I haven't had any issues with slipping either. It hasn't held up very well to cat scratches though, so I will likely be buying another soon!

The mat is exactly as described. Used it in my Yoga class today and it was nice and grippy, but not sticky. The thickness is nice too. I didn't even need a blanket under my knees because it is just cushy enough. The strap is very handy and easy to put on when you're done. There is just a slight odor when you first unroll the mat. I Ieft it open overnight and there is no longer any smell at all. All in all, I would say this is a great buy. This is an amendment to my review. My first mat deteriorated very quickly with chunks coming off off of it. When I told the vendor, they quickly sent me a new one, which I appreciated. Good customer service is hard to find. Now I'm finding the second one is falling apart too, just like the first one did. They started doing this after only a couple of weeks. Although it starts out as a nice cushy mat, I cannot recommend it if you want something that will last. I'm a little embarrassed that I keep leaving chunks of it behind in my yoga class.

I used this mat for the first time yesterday in a group boot camp class. Everyone was teasing me afterward because the top of my mat shredded and left the plastic all over the pavement we were on. Not to mention all the divets and holes in my mat. It won't last but a couple more times and then I'll have to throw it away. Was fairly comfortable for a thin mat. No one else's mat shredded. I was super embarrassed :(

Love Zen Yoga Mats. I have had one for over 10ys and I still love it and use is several times a week but it has recently started to come apart a little. I have not used this mat yet because I dont know if I'm going to keep it or not. I was looking more for a Teal color but when I got this one it was more of a light blue unlike the photo shown that looks more blue/green.

The foam on top started peeling after a few uses which is an issue with every mat I've ever had- I was hoping for the price that that would be less of an issue. However, the mat sticks very well and it serves its purpose

I just started doing yoga a few months ago and having a high quality mat makes it much easier. I love this yoga mat.I have used it for a few weeks and it seems to be holding up well. Even when I start to sweat the bumpy texture on the mat keeps a good grip so I don't slip all over. A solid choice for a beginner and the colors are nice too.

I had high expectations for this mat based on the other reviews, but I was very disappointed. The much celebrated thickness of it is okay, better than other mats I've tried in this price range, but it still hurt my knees in certain bind positions. The main problem was that it was not sticky enough, so I would slide in downdog and warrior poses. Then after less than a few weeks of use, it started falling apart. Every class I'd attend, I would leave pieces of the mat behind. After two months, it became discolored. That's when I started saving up for a higher quality mat. Giving it two stars vs. one because I still use the strap that came with it to carry my new mat. This is perhaps an okay mat for a beginner who isn't sure if they'll stay with yoga, but if you've been practicing yoga for a while and enjoy it, invest in a better mat! It's worth it!

I've used this mat twice, and it already has multiple nicks/peeling in the material from downward dog poses. While the mat is indeed very thick and cushiony, I would expect the material to hold up better. I missed the return window, otherwise this mat would have been sent back without a question.
