Hornet Watersports Silicone Grip Tape for Kayak, Canoe and Dragon Boat Paddles

The wrap that came with my paddle became torn and kept moving up and down the paddle. I ordered this replacement wrap. It went on fast and easy and adhered perfectly. I ordered the bright yellow and love the way it looks. I have since paddled many miles and it has stayed perfectly in place. It looks brand new with no fading and has not gotten dirty. Highly reommend.

I should’ve bought these first. I bought two different oairs of gloves and a set on velcro grips for my kayak paddle but they moved around too much. This tape was super-easy to put on and worked great… no blisters after an hour of paddling, so great!!! I have enough tape left to redo both grips if/when needed too!

I have used self fusing silicone tape in the past for electrical repairs but never for handle grip and this works awesome to improve wood handle grip. Be aware through the blue is more a baby blue than a navy blue as pictured (see pic).

I got this to put on my Gear Labs greenland paddle and I'm very happy. I didn't want anything that would damage my paddle. This is tacky, and hold great but isn't glue and doesn't hurt the fiber. I did a 17 mile paddle with wet, sweat, and mud and it didn't loosen and provided great grip. For a full length greenland you need 2 rolls. Update. I'm very happy with the 3 stars..works great in sweat mud cold warm water. I've used it for over 60 miles of paddling and it's still on. The left grip is creeping up a little but I think that's because I wrapped it shorter due to running out of 1 roll. Use 1 roll per paddle. I bought 4 more rolls. But haven't had to change yet.

Very grippy when dry and easy to apply... but it’s super slippery when wet but definitely helps with preventing blisters

I followed a YouTube video in applying this tape and it stuck,without any issues. Important:1. Stretch a short length of tape (this activates the stickiness)2. Wrap it AROUND ITSELF once at the base of your gripping area on clean, dry paddle.3. Continue slowly rotating paddle while stretching tape, applying the tape half on the paddle and half on the previous layer of tape in a spiral motion.4. When you reach the end of your gripping area, apply the tape once AROUND ITSELF, continuing to stretch it.5. Cut tape and, stretching it, press down firmly to seal onto already-applied tape.

Sadly when the tape gets wet it looses the tackiness that gives the grip.

First time I've used tape on my dragon boat paddle and it works great. I watched a youtube video that shows how to put it on properly. Since getting this tape in May, I've paddled twice a week with it and competed in multi-day races every month. Only now (in August) do I have to re-apply. (The tape started to tear during my last race in July but it still provided enough grip). Overall, I got two uses out of the one roll but I was heavy on the tape the first time around. You could probably get three uses out of a roll if you skimped a bit. Just ordered another two rolls. Love this stuff.
