Lightweight Luxury
Fabulous pad, great engineering, very comfortable wide, difficult to roll off of this pad, super supportive of low back area because of how pad gussets are engineered, great inflation/deflation valve, awesome sauce here if you need a lightweight, xtra wide, supportive insulated sleeping pad. Buy it if you like luxury.

Pretty comfortable
Used this at Scout camp as an extra pad for my bunk. The extra insulation helped, and my body was very supported. I really liked the v-shape to keep me in the middle of the pad. Inflating it was a pain. It inflated in about 50 breaths, but some air escaped because I needed a break. I bought a battery operated air pump to use the second time, and it inflated much better. Deflating took time, and rolling it back up into the stuff sack is hard if you're impatient. Update 2026: My sleep pad is still going strong! I've used it for Scout camping trips, and in our popup camper on my bunk. I did have a minor puncture from my cat clawing it when she decided to lay on it to claim it as hers (As she does with everything). The Klymit repair kit sold separately worked like a charm. Overall I am VERY happy with my purchase, and I have recommended Klymit to others searching for camp sleeping gear. I've updated my review to 5 stars from 4, and would give more if I could.

A great sleeping pad that works great - but know how the valve works before complaining
This is actually a great sleeping pad. The insulation value may not be as high as more pricey pads but is still very good. I used this pad in temps below 50F and was actually significantly warmer than I was with my uninsulated pad. Almost hot since I had to open my sleeping bag a little. I've read a few reviews about the valve being unable to seal air in. When I read closer I realized those reviewers didn't seem to understand how this valve works. There is no way for the flip part of the valve to be totally air tight. The materials and construction simply are not able to do that without spending a LOT more money using better materials to closer tolerances to make it better. The design of the valve is the only reason why I dropped one star. It does prevent air leakage mostly so that does make it easier to inflate when the valve is set for inflation, or slowly deflate when the valve is set for that, or to very quickly deflate when the valve is set in between. Once the pad is inflated as desired then the only way to ensure it remains fully inflated is to properly snap closed the black cover over the flip valve. I found out that is the very purpose of the black cover... to make it air tight. When that cover is fully and properly snapped closed I have never had this pad lose air. It has held full inflation through 4 or 5 night camping trips without issues. I did sleep one night with that black cover not snapped closed and the pad did then lose some air through the night so that it was about half inflated by morning, but not completely down. But properly snapping that cover closed I have never lost air in this pad. IOW this bag functions exactly as I need it to. I really like the size of this pad. It is perfect for my style of camping. It packs small and inflates big. 30 inches wide is perfect for my 33 inch wide sleeping bag with me inside making the bag closer to 30 inches. The price was right for me as well. I do motorcycle camping so all my camping gear is carried on my mc. I also have the smaller Klymit sleeping pad if I were backpacking.

Excellent for side sleepers
I have had this for almost 4 years now. Not heavily used but used enough to know it’s a great sleeping pad. Three inches thick but still light and no crinkly foil sound when you move. I’m a side sleeper so the extra thickness is a must. Easily adjustable for pressure and I’ve been down to 20° with no frozen butt. Used a short piece of reflectic and made it even warmer. Great purchase and when it needs to be replaced, I’ll likely go back to the same.

Insulated? If you say so. But comfy!
This is A terrific camping sleeping pad. As with any product there will be pros and cons. Let me list a couple of the pros. This thing is wide. Not too much worry about rolling off of it. I have a 22" wide 4" thick pad that is extremely comfortable but I am always worried about rolling off of it during the night so much so anytime I feel I'm at the edge of it I wake myself up. Not a good night sleep.. Number 2 this is very comfortable I was a little worried the very 1st time I inflated this and layed down on it, that it was not going 2 be comfortable. if I do not have adequate padding underneath my hip I can only stand about one hour of sleep until the pain wakes me up. And I have to switch sides. This pad is thick enough to keep me completely lifted off the ground in a pain free sleep. I am 5'10" 170 pounds. I included a picture next to the klymit rechargeable inflator. And a can of soda pop. So you could get an idea of the size it folds down into. It is a very thin material but seems like it is very resilient. As for blowing it up, because of its size I would not like to do this manually. But I already had the rechargeable inflator and took maybe one minute to get it completely filled. Usually with A battery powered inflator you have to blow into the pad yourself to get it to the firmness that you want. I think it must be because of the V-shape of the pad chambers that this is very comfortable and supports my weight very well.. The con would be inflating this by blowing into it which because of its size may take a while. Also I purchased the insulated pad when I and rolled it out of its bag I could not believe that it was insulated. I still do not believe it is actually insulated there seems to be a 1/8 inch soft something inside it that they must consider insulation. I think if I were to spend the money again I would buy the non insulated pad and save several dollars.. I am very impressed by the size of the inflated pad and also the size of the deflated rolled up pad. very little Room in my motorcycle panniers.

Does NOT hold the air, no matter what you do
Bought two of these for my camping trips. They look good, pack nice and their pump is pretty cool. That is all good. Now the bad. Damn thing does NOT hold air, doesn't matter if you inflate with the pump ( which it doesn't inflate hard enough) top it off with your mouth or you inflate with pump only - couple hours and the damn thing is completely flat. I was so excited that finally I will have mattress which will prevent cold air from the ground to reach me. I had a guests coming and I had to sleep in the computer room on the floor, so I thought that is going to be a good practice in mild condition to test the mattress. I woke up after couple of hours completely on the floor, just as flat as you would take it from the bag. I thought OK, it's a lemon, maybe I try my second one. Inflated, and couple of hours later - the damn second one had the same story! You may say - you just don't know how to use the valve. Rest assured, I can figure that out just fine, I make my living of fixing industrial equipment, conveyors, robots and programming damn PLC's. I can understand what is written on the valve and how to use it. The damn thing is a disaster. The fabric is really nice and comfortable, but completely worthless because it does not hold air. So my return time window closed and now I am stuck with TWO worthless mattresses and pump which it wasn't cheap. I also bought the cross canyon tent from them through another outlet, I sincerely hope the tent will be better than these mattresses. So now you know what you will be dealing with, so make informed decision before buying. Or test it the same day you receive it. Unfortunately for me because of my very busy schedule between work and college I haven't done that. My bad trusting them.

Just the right size
I just wrote a previous review for the standard-size Klymit sleeping pad. I returned it only because it was too narrow for my liking. This Klymit Luxe version is just right -- a little wider, just a little thicker, and kept this "old guy sleeping on the ground" very comfortable during the night. It is well made, inflates easily, retains its loft through the night, and keeps the chill from coming through. I used a battery powered mini-pump to inflate, but it would be no issue blowing it up yourself. I like the valve design -- very simple to operate and doesn't leak. Although it is still a small, lightweight pad that compacts nicely into its bag, some might say it is more suitable for car camping because of their need to save weight. I am 5'10"and 230 lbs, and this pad was very comfortable- long enough and wide enough to handle my "rotisserie" style of sleeping all night. I would highly recommend this pad and the Klymit brand.

A bit heavy for backpacking, but very, very comfortable for my tired body on the trail!
I used this for the first time last weekend on a two night backpacking trip. I really, really liked it. It's thick enough to provide some real comfort and equally good at giving some good insulation against the cold ground. Just remember to fully snap the closure over the air inlet/outlet valve to maintain air pressure in the pad throughout the night. And get a lightweight rechargeable electric air pump to inflate and deflate the pad. On a long backpacking trip, it's probably too heavy, but for a couple of days on the trail and just around a campground, it's worth it.

No going back
This sleeping pad has ruined me for all other sleeping pads. I have tried sooooo many over the years and never been able to find the perfect one that is genuinely comfortable. Some are comfortable but too narrow so my legs or arms hang down from the sides. This is very comfortable to sleep on your back or your side (I am a side sleeper or tummy sleeper). Despite its weight I even carry this when hiking and wild camping, the good sleep is worth it. Also the insulation is phenomenal, I sleep directly on top of the pad and unzip my sleeping bag to use it as a quilt. I am so warm and comfortable! ** Now I have had a chance to use it through winter, I can say with absolute certainty that this is only a 3 season pad. Warm and very comfortable down to about 5°c, I tried it at 0°c (using a comfort -7°c sleeping bag and a thick foil insulation pad under the pad) and I could feel the cold on my hips and my back. It was awful and l got no sleep. I will keep it as a 3 season pad and I will have to invest in the Thermarest xtherm for winter.

nice to have the extra width
I'm a big guy, and a side sleeper, and I didn't touch the ground. Very comfortable, didn't feel like i was sleeping on an old school air mattress, and didn't touch the ground, and most importantly didn't wake up with a bad back. This is a winner. If you think you might camp in cooler weather buy the insulated model, it wasn't too hot camping in summer, and you'll be happy you did if you camp spring and fall. I used it motorcycle tent camping on the ground, and recommend it, packed small and light, and was comfortable
