I just love it. I've used a lot of mice and this one finally fits me.
I guess most people -- especially in America -- have fairly large hands. Let me open with: this is not the mouse for you if you do. A lot of mice from competitors like Razer are almost famously large. This falls into a class of mice that are, thankfully, designed smaller for people like myself who do not have large hands. The biggest difference in design is a bit hard to explain. There's a sort of small hump in the middle of the sides. If you use a claw grip it really makes a huge difference for grip and comfort. It's ever so slightly longer and less wide than some of its predecessors, but seems to have struck a pretty good balance. All in all I found myself going from getting hand pains with my previous mice when using the mouse too much to this one actually all but completely eliminating that. It can work both with the USB cable plugged in and from an internal battery. Unlike most of its wireless predecessors, this one finally uses an internal lithium ion battery, so no more putting AA or AAA batteries in. This is not only more convenient, but it also means it is, overall, lighter than it would be if it used them. The difference is relatively subtle, but nice. Though of course it may be more inconvenient if you don't charge it once in a while. As for battery life, I saw the review saying it was terrible and absolutely cannot agree. It says three days, but I guess that means three days of heavy use because with a more normal use (gaming some hours every day but otherwise mostly using it for web browsing, streams, etc etc) I'm finding the battery level hasn't actually dropped much at all. It probably means literally three days -- as in 72 hours -- of constant use. But no one is continuously moving and clicking for 72 hours, so the real life result is much longer. The wireless functionality is, as expected, excellent. I can't notice even the slightest hint of latency even in high speed FPS games where tiny differences truly stand out. This may come down to it using a custom receiver, which I suppose could be a problem if you lose it, but modern Bluetooth protocols are pretty low latency these days too, so I think it's safe to say that wireless mice for gaming are here now and latency just simply is not a concern anymore. That said, you can still plug it in. If you plug it in it will not use the battery saving features like turning off the LEDs (or whatever else you may have set it to do) if you don't use it for a while. It's worth noting here that if you plug it into an external USB charger rather than your PC this means the lights stay on even after the computer has shut off (which can potentially interfere with sleeping, so something to bear in mind) but it is interesting that it continues to work wirelessly even while plugged in to USB power.

Persepctive of FPS gamer with palm grip after 2 weeks use
I have the wireless variant. This is a larger sized gaming mouse with good specs and great shape. The battery is not as good as other mice on the market in late 2020, but this one will last several days from a full charge so still gets the job done. For the fps tryhards (like me) out there, you’ll like to know the following. My hand measures 19cm long and 10cm wide and I use the full palm grip comfortably on this mouse. The side button placement is ideal and the LMB and RMB have very tight, clean clicks with low actuation distance (similar to some logitech mice, and opposite of mice like the the razer deathadder). There are much lighter mice on the market, and better shapes for claw or fingertip grips. But if you don’t mind the weight and you prefer palm grip, then this is a great mouse with a comfortable shape for FPS titles and just regular daily use. It is the best I’ve found since the g403, which is similarly comfortable for my hand size and grip style. Other mice I’ve used include g403 (my favorite before this mouse), G pro wireless (just a little too narrow for my palm grip, but worked great for claw with my measurements - if you’re into that), razer mamba elite wireless (good shape for my measurements and grip style, but just didn’t like the feel or the foot pads of the mouse), corsair nightsword (yikes - terrible button placement and awkward shape), razer deathadder V2 wireless (great for my measurement and grip style, would be even better for a slightly bigger hand if using palm grip but the buttons felt mushy/long actuation distance), glorious model O (just too small for my grip style, probably better for fingertip grip with my measurements. I also prefer slightly more weight.) Hope this helps those like me who look for this type of review and never find one as specific.

Spectacular Engineering in a Mouse, by a Company with Integrity
I love this mouse. I loved it right when I bought it during summer of 2020. The only gripe I ever had with it was the scroll wheel would seem to jump in unexpected ways.. wasn't the end of the world but mildly annoying nonetheless. So I put it up with it for a long time, all the while assuming the issue was some problem in how I configured the drivers on my machine, or a mismatch in settings I had made somewhere. Periodically, I'd try to resolve the issue but never quite got it working properly, and then I'd get busy with work and forget for another month. It wasn't until recently that I was using the mouse on another OS that I realized I was experiencing the same issue in a completely different environment with different drivers. At this point it clicked - "Wow. Maybe this has been a hardware issue all along." I immediately emailed ROCCAT and explained my situation. Knowing I was well outside of the 90 day warranty (EDIT: I thought it was 90 days at the time, it’s actually 2 or 3 years!), I simply asked them if they knew of any DIY fixes I might apply that could resolve the unintended behavior. I received a reply within 12 hours from a representative named Sascha, who was most helpful. Sascha gave me a couple of things to try, like resetting the mouse and doing a fresh firmware installation - which did actually make an improvement, it just didn't fix it entirely. Nonetheless, when I reported back to Sascha that this was the case, the next reply was an RMA number and a message saying expect to have a replacement within 14 days after my shipping notification. In reality, I received my new replacement mouse inside of a week of Sascha's last email. The fact they were so quick to do the right thing (even as I was outside my warranty window) has left an impression on me that I thought was worth writing a review for. I love this mouse on a mechanical level, an ergonomic level, and now I love it knowing the company is brand that has integrity in their customer service, and pride in their products. I will absolutely be buying from ROCCAT again, and I can honestly recommend them to anyone reading this. Thank you Sascha and ROCCAT, I appreciate you! UPDATE: I still love the mouse after another RMA. The first RMA worked flawlessly until December of 2021 when it developed the same issue the first mouse had. I emailed Sascha again in the same thread from nearly a year prior, and again the dude replied immediately. This time I thought there was no way they’d give me an RMA. I was simply asking the rep if they fixed the mechanical issue so that if I buy another one, I won’t have to worry about it. That’s how much I like this mouse - I was going to buy another after it failed with one year of use. Turns out I didn’t have to. Wherever I read the “90 day warranty” when I first was shopping for mice was wrong. It’s actually like a two or three year warranty, and so Sascha wrote me back with another RMA number without me even asking. On mouse #3 everything’s been great so far. I think they might have fixed this issue because this scroll wheel certainly feels better than the other two and Im going on a few months with it.

Nearly Perfect for me
I bought this thinking I was getting as close as I could to a wireless KPOE, but this is different in a lot of ways. Obviously the shape is different. It's more ambi than ergo, but still right-hand ergo. The texture is slick at first, but perfect imo after it "warms up." The clicks are crispy and not too loud, nothing to complain about for sure. The scroll wheel is godly. Very defined steps but still quiet. The side buttons are too soft for me. It's really easy to accidentally trigger them, but that could be a good thing depending on what you like. Tracking is perfect, can't even tell it's wireless at all. I am not a sensor snob, so I can't give you too many details here. I don't really play much FPS and I certainly am not competitive when I play. The mouse does what a mouse does just fine for me. Negatives: So the coating combined with the shape can make it difficult to pick up at times. Maybe it's just my hands, but I have nearly dropped it before. The cable is stupid too. You don't need to use it most of the time, only when you need to charge the mouse. They designed the port on the mouse to ONLY use the cable it comes with. I have 500 micro-USB cables that are sad they cannot be used in this mouse. Why did they make it so you can only use the one cable? What happens if the cable breaks? This is why the mouse lost a star for me. Also, no USB-C? come on. Overall, I really like the mouse. I still daily my KPOE, but some games I prefer the larger Kain. They are both plugged in and I alternate depending on what I want. Hope this helps if you even read this far!

Fantastic for Gaming, Highly Recommend!
going wireless on a mouse is something I've wanted to do for a little while now, and I decided to pull the trigger when Roccat had a sale on this, and oh man I am so happy I did! comparing to my old mouse (HyperX Pulsefire Surge), this mouse is a little heavier and a bit bigger, so it took me a little while to get used to it. But once I was adjusted to the new feel it's felt a lot better. the mouse has a really nice matte, smooth finish on it that provides a nice grip. At first I was a bit nervous because there was no rubberized grip and my hand gets a bit sweaty during longer game sessions, but that worry was quickly quelled because of the finish on this mouse. my hand does not slip at all and this mouse is very easy to clean as well in case any small particles find their way onto it. as far as button clicks and scroll wheel goes, this mouse feels extremely responsive and satisfying to click. the scroll wheel is very precise between each tick of the wheel, and the buttons are nice and responsive. the battery life is great. if you're doing extremely long sessions (like, 6+ hours a day), then you may need to charge it a couple times per week, but if you do relatively normal gaming sessions ( say, 3-5 hours), then one full charge will likely last you an entire week. the charging is very fast as well, I'd say I had it wired for about 30 mins before it was fully charged, but it was likely done before that. the wireless connection is great too, there is no noticeable lag compared to when it's wired. the only downside is the Roccat Swarm software. it's not that it's bad, it can just be a bit confusing to navigate if you're new to the software. however, this really isn't any major setback, as most manufacturer softwares are pretty clunky to navigate. overall, I'd highly recommend this mouse to anyone looking to cut the wire for gaming. it is fantastic and looks incredible.

I had to make a review...
I started PC gaming about a year ago (playing a lot of Rainbow Six Siege). I went through 4 mouses until I stumbled upon this one. I used Rocket Jump Ninja's website (measured my hand and gave my grip type), and this mouse was the fit for claw grip players. I got a Logitech G502, but I had a double clicking issue first month (waste of 75$). So I bought a corsair harpoon for 45$ (that mouse is great). But, I wanted to treat myself to a better mouse. I bought the Roccat kain 202 aimo, and I was blown back. You could just buy a G pro, but this mouse will save you 30+$ for the same quality. It looks amazing and fits perfectly for me. I would recommend this mouse to any player that has had difficulty finding the right claw grip and wants a quality mouse. Would Recommend For Sure!!! PS. I've had this mouse for 6 months, with no issues. I recently had a stutter issue with the sensor but I fixed that by closing the swarm application (hopefully they will fix that soon) :D

Poor quality
I really loved the mouse, unfortunate the quality made me eventually go to another mouse. I had 3 of these. The first one died after it's first charge (not bought via Amazon). Cause I really liked the mouse I bought another one, this time via Amazon, the beginning was great, unfortunate after a couple of months the mouse started to have some issues. During the use of the scroll wheel, after each several down scrolls, the screen shifted up. Not a major issue, but is became quit frustrating. After contact with Roccat help desk, I received a new mouse, but unfortunate, the same issue happened again. I really liked the mouse, but with this lack of quality, I went to another one, and hopefully others have more success with this beautiful mouse. But for me, no more Roccat.

It's Alright
I wanted a mouse that works wired and wirelessly for regular and gaming use. I have been interested in trying Roccat and this is my first product of theirs. I think it looks nice, feels relatively nice, and works great. The surface is interesting, cleans easily and requires your hand to have a bit of moisture to get a good grip. It will still get hand oil stains after a while though, typical for any plastic. However, the left mouse button seemed to have gotten dust underneath so it doesn't fully register when I hold it down, which is problematic when playing fps games because I need to scope in sometimes. I used compressed air to alleviate the problem for a while but it has come back a couple times. I also do not like how my hand has to be moist to grip the mouse properly. The Roccat Swarm software is quite annoying, not that bad but nothing great. No problems with the scroll wheel so far (2 years as of review) so I guess others may have gotten bad ones or do something weird with their scroll wheels. Overall, quite expensive for the problems it has but it works great for me so I don't see myself needing a new mouse for a while. Edit: after writing this review my scroll wheel and mouse buttons starting acting up more than usual. I need more pressurized air and it is becoming annoying.
