Excellent headset!
We've been using these headsets with our Polycom office phones for the last 3-4 months and the work very well. These are probably the best wireless headsets I've ever used. Here are the things I like about them: 1) These are light-weight & comfortable. Since I often wear mine for 10-12 hours a day, this is very important. 2) The sound quality is excellent. It really is like talking directly on a wired headset. 3) One major problem I've had with Plantronics headsets in the past is that they aren't very good with eliminating wind noise. Fortunately, these perform very well in this area. I can talk just fine under a ceiling fan or walking outside by the shop with no issues. 4) Having an effective wireless headset really frees me up to get stuff done while on the phone all day. 5) The range is very good. We can walk all over a 3000 square foot space without issues. It does reach the edge of its range when we go out to the outdoor shop; but, that should probably be expected. Even though I love this headset overall, there are a few issues: 1) By default, the headsets come with a cable that hooks up just fine with Polycom phones - but they don't support the answer/hang-up button on the headset. That basically means you have to be by the phone to either answer or hang up from a call. The best way we found to resolve this is to use the Plantronics 38439-11 EHS Cable , which is a great addition to this phone. The downside is that it's kind of expensive for just a cable... 2) There are multiple people working in a small space, and I'm regretting that everyone else has so much mobility. I mean, come on! It's OK for me to pace all over the office, but not everyone else. :) Overall, I would highly recommend this headset to anyone who is using an office phone and doesn't want to be tied down to their desk all day - especially if you spend a lot of time on the phone.

Another top notch headset from Plantronics, well worth the extra cost
Oct 2016 I bought a CS540 to replace my aging CS70NC that was failing fast. I looked into replacing the battery, and maybe the crumbling earpiece, but the cost was more than I wanted to spend to rehabilitate old stuff. I had been very satisfied with my old Plantronics unit and was glad to see that the company was providing an improved model. The CS540 base unit is smaller, has more visible indicator lights, improved switches, and is compatible with the handset lifter I already owned. So I ordered it from Amazon and two days later was again enjoying clear sound and amazing range. I work from home and often roam during phone conferences (more coffee, fetch files, etc.). My old Plantronics headset let me get a few rooms away before losing the signal, but the new CS540 lets me get to every room in my 2 story house with no noticeable loss of signal. The CS540 can be used over-the-ear or over-the-head, but I find the lightweight earpiece to work very well resting on my ear. The mic boom is slightly adjustable toward my mouth, and very adjustable up and down. So finding a comfortable position is easier than with the older model. It's easy to forget that I am wearing it. The CS540 sound quality adjustment switches are much easier to understand and use than the older model. A call to the Plantronics 1-800 number is a quick way to get the settings correct, followed by a call to someone willing to answer your questions about "how does this sound?" In my case the switches required only minimal adjustment from the factory settings. The person I called said she could not tell I was speaking over a headset. And I could hear her as if I were listening on the phone's regular handset. The CS540 is a very well made device. My only minor complaint is the lack of printed instruction manual. The unit comes with a multi-language foldout that is adequate for the initial connection to a desk phone, but it doesn't clearly explain other features such as indicator lights, headband attachment, advanced setup switches, etc. A more complete manual is available online, but I saw what seems to be a few errors related to the advanced switches (for wide-narrow band radio settings, and headset pairing). Despite the errors, I was able to figure it out well enough such that I spent no more than 10 minutes from the time I opened the box to when I was all done with installation and setup. If you spend a lot of time on conference calls I can recommend the CS540 as well worth the extra cost. I've used many other headsets, both wired and wireless, and also Bluetooth, and none of them come close to the quality of Plantronics products. Also: don't skip the automatic handset lifter. It's a clunky looking gadget but it works very well.

Fantastic Device
I work in an underground warehouse environment and I was wanting a headset that would allow me to leave my desk, free up both of my hands and have the signal strength to reach long distances. This headset delivers on all of these personal requirements. PROS: I'm able to traverse the entire dock area outside of the office; the signal strength even allows me be outside to a certain degree. I lose signal when entering other areas of the warehouse (areas separated from the dock by a LARGE wall) but since I spend all of my time in the office and on the dock, this isn't a problem for me. Setting up the device was very easy. This particular headset came with the headset lifter for the phone, which is needed if you have multiple phone lines as we do. The headset is adjustable, so it fits to the contour of my face well. It took some fiddling with to find the best position. Until then, I was afraid the headset may fall off, but once I found the proper adjustment, I've never been worried again. Battery life fills my needs perfectly. I work 8-9 hr days and I've never had a problem with the headset losing charge. I typically place it on the charger at lunch, giving it a 30 minute pick up. It's lasted all day doing this. CONS Not a whole lot of cons on this. There's a very slight sound, as if your in a tunnel. I only mention it because of others have, but its not a deal breaker. The only time I notice it is when I haven't talked on the phone for a while. WISHES These are just some features that I would have like to have, though they are not deal breaks and I knew going in that they were not included in package. With the headset, you have to be at your phone to dial a number or use the intercom. Other models have a portable keypad ( though are only used on 1 line phones), which some sort of option for intercom access or phone book access would be a cool feature to have. Overall, great. It was everything that I needed in a headset and i would recommend it to anyone who is in the market for one.

Great piece of hardware
I bought this item as a replacement for my old CS55. My CS55 worked fine in my last two offices but when I came to my new job customers would tell me that they couldn't hear me when I spoke to them. I could hear them, but I would cut in and out and it was quite frustrating. This product came on time and worked perfectly out of the box (despite the UPS box showing up like it had been mauled by a bear with chainsaws for arms...great job UPS...but I digress). This was very easy to setup and the base is actually smaller than the old CS55 which is great for the limited space on my desk. It came nearly fully charged and was ready to use in about 20 minutes. I use the headband+earpiece because it is more stable than just the earpiece, and it it sits comfortably over my head. The sound coming through into my ear is clear and crisp. The volume and mute button is much easier to use than on the old CS55, it protrudes more and is easier to push. The volume button makes a toned noise as you go up and down which is somehow kind of nice and refreshing. There is also a light on the base...green means it's on, flashing green means it's charging, and red means you have it on mute. I am able to wander further from my desk than with the old CS55. In fact, I could go through a door to our kitchen area which is separated from our office by a central dividing wall and I could still hear the conversation and speak as well. I can now get more coffee while on long calls. The actual microphone arm is more versatile from an adjustment standpoint, instead of only rotation on an axis it is actually more of a ball and socket type thing which allows for some spherical adjustment (up and down as well as closer and further from your mouth). The best is that there is zero interference from the 20 other wireless headsets in my new office. I am extremely satisfied with this purchase and would recommend it to any sales professional.

Move Along. Too Many Flaws for Daily Use.
I've used this headset for a year now, plenty enough time to give it an honest review. I'm currently looking for a replacement. I love the style of this product, but thats about where it stops. The ear clip is small and brittle. They give you two, but neither fit well. I did away with them within the first two weeks. The rubber ear pieces (which can be used without the clip and come in many sizes) stay in the ear ok, but they don't stay connected to the device well, so eventually (and semi-frequently) it will fall out and you'll be left with the rubber piece still in your ear and the device on the ground. The volume on the device is also too finicky. There are two adjustments - general volume, and mic/speaker gain (on the base). Most of the volume options are far too quiet. Once you finally get a good volume in the ear, the mic will feedback. It also distorts very easily and I've just accepted that calls will be uncomfortably quiet. I've put up with all of this until the most recent issue, though. After about 15 mins of use the mic will randomly start feeding back in your ear. The callers on the other end can hear it too. If you can push through that, eventually the ear piece will shut off and start screeching. The only way to fix it to put it back on the charger for a few minutes. It didn't do this at first, but now its almost unusable. The whole reason you want this thing is for calls LONGER than 15 mins. I typically like Plantronics products, but I can't recommend this one. It's a great looking device with far too many flaws.

Awesome headset. Works great!
I purchased this headset for me to use at work. Part of my job is to do technical webinars, demonstrations, and technical support. I am on the phone all day, every day and needed an awesome headset that had good audio for both microphone and speaker along with long battery life. This headset is all of those things. I have never had the battery go out on me yet. It also charges very quickly. I also got this headset because it the headband is optional. I wear it just over my ear without the headband (the headbands start to hurt the top of my head). It comes with several options regarding earbuds and over-ear connections. I found a combination that works for me. It fits snugly, does not move, and can be adjusted to be closer or further away from your face. The range has been amazing too. Some of my phone calls can become quite lengthy and it is nice to be able to walk around my office, fill my coffee etc. without feeling chained to your desk. I have used this for a couple of weeks now and have never once had a complaint from the the person on the other end about the sound. This is a great headset. I have no complaints about it. It was easy to setup and works great.
