whats the age for these

Our Happy Tot Fiber and Protein pouches are formulated for 12 months and up, however they are safe for little ones 9 months and up. I didn’t see preservatives in the ingredients list, how is freshness maintained?

Hi Mildred Hoffman, Thank you for reaching out with your question. Our pouches are preserved by a combination of heat, the type of packaging and pH controls that are placed in succession to minimize bacterial growth. The purees are cooked to high enough temperature to kill any microbiological growth and then drops of lemon juice concentrate and/or ascorbic acid are added to lower the pH of the purees to a food safe range. Lastly, the type if packaging we use has an inner aluminum lining for vapor/moisture impermeability. Our first priority is making sure the pouches are safe for non-refrigerated storage, and in order to accomplish this, the food is cooked to accomplish commercial sterility. We take a lot of steps not to “overcook”, so as not to lose nutritional value, but the safety of the products necessitates that we cook the purees at >185 F. When do they expire? How long do they last?

Hi Demez, Thank you for your question! Our production occurs year-round therefore we cannot give an exact expiration date on any one package that Amazon will ship. We can, however, guarantee that any product you receive from us through Amazon will have plenty of shelf life to be consumed by your little one. Is there a way to get the blueberry flavor without the "plant protein?" My child normally devours this flavor but won't touch the plant protein ones.

Our sincere apologies for your experience with our recipe change in the Fiber and Protein pouches. We actually went through a recipe change so that all little ones, even those with dairy sensitivities could enjoy a bit more protein. I am just so sorry that your little one does not enjoy the change. I understand that this change is very difficult on your family and I am so sorry for the headache and stress that this has caused.
