Q: Why cannot these type electric pumps be used to transfer gear oil or ATF ?

I used mine for an ATF change, It worked but not like described. Took 30 minutes to pump 5 quarts.

Q: I need to plug this into a 120v generator outlet. Can I split the cord to wire a120v male plug?

No it’s a 12 volt pump If you put 120 volts of A/C power to it it will burn up in a second

This oil change pump must not be used with gas, paraffin, gasoline, alcohol, liquefied gas or other flammable liquid and water. Strictly speaking, we do not recommend pumping high-viscosity oil. But If you encounter high-viscosity oil, please heat it. The heating oil will become thinner and can be pumped.

Q: I want to use this to take oil samples from a Cummins 450 L9. Is the tube dia small enough and the length long enough to insert it into the dipstick?

A piece of Junk. Save your money. the only way you can send it back is not used. It will burn up the motor in about 2 minutes. Will not pump oil..
