OneTouch Verio Blood Glucose Flex System (Meter Only)

I was pleased to also receive a lancing device, 10 lancets, and the holder, not just the meter. I also like that the meter has an expiration date on the back. My previous meter did not and I used it far longer than I should have so now I know when I need to replace this one. It was easy to set up and use. I followed the instructions and had no issues with setting up the Bluetooth. I have no issues with seeing the display, even though it is not lit up. One thing to note, the battery indicator does not show the battery as being full, even when I test the battery and it shows full. Just wait for the battery indicator to show that it is time to replace it. The lancing device is a little different than my previous one and I tend to turn the top when trying to remove it from the holder.

It’s a good device. However, the needle adjustment is not quite accurate. This is our third purchase of the OneTouch Verio Blood Glucose Flex device as we give to family members.

Works as it should

This was easy to learn and manage. It comes with the finger lancing device and 10 lancets. The phone app helps keep track of numbers as well. My insurance covers more lancets, but the test strips get pricey that my insurance doesnt cover. The company does help out with a first few orders but after that you have to buy them yourself. Good thing amazon has the best price to order more test strips.

When Leukimia basically zeroed out my blood cell counts, I discovered my previously reliable glucose meter kept giving wildly variable results. I thought it had gone bad, and bought a different highly rated one only to have the same results. I went to the NIH papers regarding this issue and found that gor people with low hemocrit numbers in their blood won’t get good readings on most glucose meters. There were some meters that worked though because they used two different processes to measure glucose. I chose the one they tested with the most accurate results and Bought that one. My old meter when it worked would give consecutive readings within +/- 5% which was ok. This meter gives me identical consecutive readings living up to the +/- 1% the researchers found. Without this meter, I wouldn’t be able to get glucose readings at all. I’d been in a panic before it came. It was a life saver for me.
