All that glitters is not gold.
Everything that glitters is not gold. The bike looks good in the image and in real but the problem is the quality. This bike is not safe to ride on the road. The alignment of wheels is not colinear. The fork and the front wheel are not centrally aligned - the wheel is slight to the left from the center of the fork - which causes the bike to drag to one side and a wobbly effect in the front. The breaks are inefficient. In spite of being stiff, the breaks demand a long stopping distance which is much more than normal. The break, when applied causes the bike to drag and during slow speed, the handlebar turns to the left.At first, I thought maybe I did not assemble the parts correctly so I took it to a reputed professional cycle shop where they told me that the bike has manufacturing defects and should not have passed the quality checks.I spent 30pounds just to know that the bike has a manufacturing defect. The hassle to take it to the cycle shop and now the hassle to return the bike. The Gears are fine. But the bike overall is unsafe to ride. Some people may like it because it looks good but a person who is new to bikes will not realize this problem at first. It is better to buy a bike from the shop in person because the bike need to be the right size and you can see the quality for yourself first hand. The correct adjustments can be made first hand and in a case of any discomfort, it can be resolved there itself before you burn a hole in your pocket. This bike is priced very low but the paint looks good which attracts the user to buy it instantly.Refer Images to see the wheel alignment.NOTE: Always spend a little more to buy durable products and if possible buy it person for the first time.

Good Price but not the best quality
When the chainring (attached to the pedal crank) is on "Low" and attempt to move to lowest gear does not work. Furthermore the handlebar grip wrapping has came undone.Apart from that it is a okay bike for the price

When I had this bike it never worked, didn't ...
When I had this bike it never worked, didn't fit together very well, after riding it the second time this cracking started had many things repaired on it however its still there, now the repair shop thinks this is due to the frame itself!!!!!!

Cost-effective
We should not forget this bike is not expensive high-specked machine. I think its performance is excellent.I am small guy with 170cm height and this bike is a little large and heavy (12.5kg) for me.Be aware that even this Shimano gear system has 3(front)

North Gear 901
I bought this bike for my 14 year old son, It duly arrived "a day early" Wonderful....fortunately my son had gone out for the afternoon 10 minutes before it arrived so I had plenty of time to get it assembled, I opened the box, took everything out, all was there that should have been there, and there was a lot less to assemble than I thought as most of it had been put together already, followed the instructions as its always best to read before you proceed, I found the little box with the Allen key and spanner in it and off I went assembling,,,,,,Ahhhh,,,,, hang on a minute, the spanner does not fit any of the nuts snugly I didn't want to round off any of the nuts and bolts so I got out my little socket set and all was well, until I came to fit the handlebars and the seat, the Allen key did not fit any of the bolts that hold the handlebars on, or anything else on the bike for that matter, even the small end was too big, the only thing the Allen key fitted was the clamp that holds the seat in the frame, so out came my Allen keys, fitted the pedals and finally bike assembled, the only thing left to do was pump up the tyres to 100PSI no less, (I only know that because it said so on the sidewall of the tyres) I thought this will be easy I will use my compressor, Hmm small problem here too, the tyres don't have a Schrader valve like a car tyre does, you have to use something called a Presta adapter which allows you to use a car tyre pump to put air in the tyres as the bike didn't come with a pump, I checked the box the bike came in and the box with the tools in it, No Presta adapter, at this point I had to hide the bike and it's box in the shed until the following day (as the boy didn't know I was getting him the bike) when I could get to my local bike shop and spend "a whole 90p" on the presta adapter,.... really!......, I also bought front and rear LED lights and a bike lock which cost another £60 but that's neither here or there.... back home the tyres were pumped and checked Finally all was done. Now for the bike itself.I have to be honest and say this is the best quality bike for the money I have seen, It was reduced from £300 odd to £170 plus delivery and all in all only took half an hour to put together, the seat bothered me a bit (it will be like sitting on a razor blade) .. and as usual with this sort of bike there is no mud guards but then hey!..... it's not me riding it is it....It states in the headline for the bike, it's a North Gear 901 14 speed road /racing bike, when in fact this bike has 21 gears, 7 on the rear axle and 3 on the pedal crank shaft...bonus eh!!My son loves the bike and has a big smile on his face when he's out riding it (that might have something to do with the saddle though..lol)I have ridden the bike myself and it's easy to handle, comfortable riding position and the gear changes are silky smooth and the brakes are seriously effective, having said that the ride is a bit hard due to the 100PSI in the tyres and no spring loaded suspension in the frame like his off roader, Personally I feel this was a good buy as a first road bike for the Boy. I hope this review helps.Kind RegardsMerlin.
