Outstanding microwave in this range
I continue to be pleased with the performance of this microwave oven. My previous oven, a Panasonic 1100 watt model, failed prematurely (at about 1.5 years - or, shortly after the warranty expired, take your pick). Because of this I decided to choose another brand, a Toshiba EM131A5C-BS, which is also in the 1100 watt range. It's a really big seller, but unfortunately, the item was either defective or extraordinarily underpowered, and never delivered the power of any other 1100 watt oven with which I have had experience. In addition, it apparently had some mode switching problems, and I returned it after having ascertained that an in depth study of the manual would not change the facts.I ordered this Farberware model as a replacement despite its rather unconventional way of entering cook times, and I am continually impressed with its performance so far. First, in terms of power, it is at least the equal of, and in some ways surpasses the earlier Panasonic model that I owned. It cooks evenly, quickly and without undue fuss. The unit is quiet, and vents moisture well as long as you keep the sides clear as the instruction clearly say. The cook time setting is actually a lot easier than it looks. The settings panel takes the lightest of touches to initiate (this was a major area where the Panasonic failed. You'd have to literally nearly push the microwave off the table to make an entry). The door mechanism on this unit is automated. You neither push a mechanical button or pull a handle. It is powered so that only a light touch causes the lock to disengage. There is also a device to open the door manually in case of emergencies. I have no reason to believe that this inclusion adds a liability, as it has operated really well during the time which I have owned the microwave oven. It really solves a problem with devices in this range, as they tend to be so light that opening the door, invariably moves the entire unit. Its only possible drawback, one which has not caused me undue concern, is that it does not have an eco-mode which will turn off the light (clock and door button) when the device is not in use. IMHO small price to pay for what I consider to be a best in class for this kind of microwave oven. It represents what I hope is the future for these devices. Well done, Farberware.

Highly Recommend! Awesome Quality & Performance!
I purchased this microwave air fryer because the microwave we had was outdated and my wife has been asking for an air fryer for quite some time. This seemed like the perfect solution. Since we have limited counter space, I was really hoping this could be a all-in one oven. I instantly went from skeptical to obsessed over the weekend :).Its black stainless steel sleek design looks fantastic and doesn't take up too much space. The air frying capabilities in our first couple tests are excellent. This past weekend we made french fries with barely any oil and they came out browned and crispy. Since they were not frozen they needed a little extra time. We also made breaded chicken cutlets that surprisingly came out golden brown and tasty. There are pre-programmed settings for each type of food you make, which takes the guess work out of cooking. It also acts as a regular convection oven and can make virtually anything. My son loves brownies and we made a boxed mix which came out better than our regular oven. This microwave does it all and I highly recommend especially if you have limited kitchen real estate. I cannot wait to experiment with all the other functions like dehydrating, slow cooking and grill.

Everything in one piece of equipment!
This oven is packed full of features and is a GREAT value. Mine did arrive a little dented, but it works just fine and you can't actually see the dents unless you are really looking. The book explains how to activate all the different cooking options like air fry, convection, grill, and microwave. There are sine handy presets programmed in. I do think you have to keep the book around to look up some features. It's not like there is a "popcorn" or "dinner plate reheat" button. You have to know which preset number it is. I've had mine several weeks and have started to memorize my favorites. The big downside is that the oven has so many cool settings, but no cookbook, so you have to be willing to experiment a little. Overall, I love this unit. I have mine in a small space kitchen and it is my only cooking appliance. I've baked, made fresh and frozen, cooked meats, potatoes, and veggies. It's a work horse and has so many features in one package! It would be a 5 star, even with the dents, if it had a cookbook.

TLDR Worth It
Big fan—I almost didn’t buy this microwave because of the reviews about it being difficult to use and not cooking as quickly. I haven’t had either of those issues. I will say that it doesn’t have a hundred buttons like my last microwave, but it’s SO much better this way.First of all, if you just put something in there and hit Start/+30, it defaults to a normal full power microwave setting for 30 seconds. It’s the button I use most bc I can just hit the button a few times to nuke whatever.Second of all, I’ve done frozen fries, leftover deep dish pizza, and macaroni and cheese—all came out awesome. Seriously, I don’t see the difficulty other people have complained about. You hit the button for the type of cooking you want, turn the dial to the power level, hit Start/+30, turn the same dial for the time, then hit Start/+30 to start it.It looks nice, works great, comes with all the stuff for the cooking types, and is easy to use.Cons: it’s heavy and I didn’t like lifting it; also it has an extra beep at the end that annoyed me for the first week.

Farberware Support is Terrible
I loved this item when I first got it, but after 2 years, it stopped working properly. I heard a pop late at night, while it was sitting idle, and now there's a burning smell whenever I try to use it. Looks like a resistor randomly blew out. I contacted Farberware support, and they were completely unwilling to help because apparently they only cover the 1st year. Kitchen appliances should not need to be replaced every 2 years! Also, going through their email support, their reply window is 30 days...Pay a little more for a name brand. This was not worth the headache.
