Once upon a time, I fell in love with three best friends. This is the story of how they became my enemies. Trent, Reese, and West. The Icons. Those three names are seared on my heart, imprinted on my soul. I gave a piece of myself to each of them before lies and betrayal drove us apart. But when I’m offered a full-ride scholarship to the prestigious Clearwater University, I can’t say no… even if it means facing down the demons from my past. Even if it means being drawn back into a world of obsession, vengeance, and desire. Even if it means the Icons will do everything they can to break me. But I’m not the same girl I once was, and if they think I’ll be an easy target for their wrath… We'll just see who breaks first. This is book one of the Clearwater University series, a new adult enemies-to-lovers romance. It contains foul language and high steam. Review: Not for sensitive readers - I’m a fan of Eva Ashwood because of how deep and dark her books are. They’re definitely not for the sensitive readers who like vanilla, innocent love, and ideal relationships. To me, she gets more realistic and shows the darker sides of relationships. She also writes about reverse harems and does it well. Each man has their own personality and unique connection to the woman, which is nice. They’re not all the same alphas. This book - or series - is a friends-to-enemies and enemies-to-lovers kind of vibe. Emma does experience a kind of bullying abuse that’s not explicitly detailed from the guys and yet she’s still attracted to them. Definitely not the kind of typical love story. Ashwood does hint at a couple parents finding love, however one of the parents was still married to another. You get to feel the kind of anger that a child would feel about that. Good book to read as long as you’re not touchy about specific things. Review: A bit angsty. - Seems like an earlier work from this author. A bit angsty but with a bit of steam, good characters and a decent plot.

Who Breaks First
WHAT DID I JUST READ!! HINT: THE BEST DAMN BOOK YOU WILL READ THIS YEAR!! Definitely 5 stars. Meet Emma, the girl who is not going to be bullied anymore. Trent, West and Reese the Icons. So much history between these four and you will get some of what is the root of the bullying. You cannot deny the tension between them all. The heat level for that is scorching ladies. Well, I sure did not see some of the twist in this book. I was literally on the edge of my seat and could not put the book down. I sure did fall in love with Emma. You can't help but be proud and sad for her. No worries though, everything is just getting started. Like they say "hell hath no fury like a women scorned. Be prepared for the ending. I can't wait for the next book. **This is an advanced readers in exchange for an honest review. Also purchased this amazing book.**

I liked it but....
Ok so I really liked this book but it severely pissed me off.... First of all there is no real reason for the bullying no good legitimate reason at all ... When u read this u will understand.... However I'm excited to see where book two takes us I mean it could go a million different ways so hold on with me and let's see where this leads.... Now two this book was very steamy I really enjoyed those scenes and they kept me fairly flushed.... So let's see what happens in book two

0 to 60. Bullying Tension Mach 5. Spice Level 7.
Tropes: ~RH (F - 3 M) ~Bullying HS/College ~Revenge/Hate $3x Eva Ashwood knows how to deliver on intensity. Emma's story starts of quick and harsh meeting her tormenters on the college campus. All the past history of being close friends/attracted to all the MMCs, and the betrayal and bullying in HS, comes out fast. The tension is perfect between not knowing what will happen next and the rage mixed with $3xual tension that explodes here and there as we find out the truth.

Emma scorned...
Trent is a prick. Reese is a softy wuss. West is a dick. Reese and West are Trent's ass kissers. They deserve the Hell Emma leashes out on them. Lot of angst in this story. Trent's immature reaction of what he started in high school because of how his parents split almost made want to wuit this book because it is ridiculous to keep carrying that damned revengeful torch into college 2 yrs later. But it is a good story so far, so much that I need to read the 2nd book to find out what other kind of Hell Emma will leash out on the guys after she is forced out of college. I give this 4 cups of steaming java, ☕☕☕☕.

my girl! this is soooo much!
Ok I have loved so many series by Eva, but this book 1 is the most amazing twisted dark book. It hasn’t even gotten to the good stuff yet. Diving in to book 2 right now.

I Give this book a 4.5/5 Star Rating, Listing as 4. Audio Wise it’s a 5/5!!! I received a Copy of the Audio of this book to review, I already own this entire series in kindle format ☺️ The voices are Great: The Female Voice reminds me of Mila Kunis, and it fits her perfectly! And the Male voice reminds me of Spike from Cowboy Bebop, and his voice is simply gorgeous! Cliffhanger(?): Yes! Heat: 3.5/5 Drama: 4.5/5 Suspense: 4-4.5/5 Romance: Not Sure if I Should Rate This One Yet Lol Bully Scale: 3.5/5, other readers may rate it higher. I am glad the volume 2 is available
After reading this book, I am just seriously relieved that the volume two is available to read right away. The bullying situations are heavy and, at least for me, unbearable, but after so many excellent reviews, I decided to give a shot and go ahead for the second volume of the series. The author’s writing is clean and clear. The situations are believable and very well explained. There are no loosened threads or obscured aspects of their past. Let’s see if my 5 ⭐️ will keep up showing on the next book. I would recommend IF a serious love/to deep hate/to love again/to extremely serious hate is your kind of reading. Emphasis on “serious hate”.

What a book! A must read
I’ve never particularly liked bully books but this one is incredible and I love the muliple point of views so you get all sides. I like how there is so much going on and that the guys generally believe the reasons behind everything. It is a must read especially with book 2 so close to being released and then book 3 Feb next year. The story moves quickly so it keeps you hooked from the beginning and it keeps the mystery while you get enough to slowly start to piece the puzzle together!

Meh 2.5
I absolutely hated Trent. What a big baby, nothing more fragile than a man ego... Ridiculous reasons, ridiculous story, don’t know if i want to read the next.

Great beginning to this series!
Who Breaks First is book one in the Clearwater University series. A reverse harem romance with bully themes Emma returns back to her home town after being offered a full ride to Clearwater University. And walks straight into Trent, Reece and West the Icons. They used to be best friends until they weren’t and they mercilessly tormented her for a year until she fled. I can’t say no to a bully romance with enemies to lovers and second chance vibes. But this trio manage to ruin their happiness at every turn. They seek their revenge for Emma’s actions….I thought at first this was just miscommunication. But it’s so much deeper and the drama of it creates the best tension and angst. Multiple POV’s also make this read so much more interesting. With getting not only the present situations but flashes to their pasts and moments that lead to Emma’s torment. That cliffhanger…While I definitely saw a cliffhanger coming in this kind of context, I definitely didn’t see it happening this way. This book is definitely a great start to the series!
