I recently acquired the AmazonBasics Pre-Seasoned Cast Iron Wok, and I must say it has been a game-changer in my kitchen. It's not carbon steel and it's cast iron, hence it's heavy (3.9 kgs) and It's 2.5mm thick and 37 cm in diameter and flat bottom. You can't flambe your food and also you can't flip your food that easily. I am using it as back up kadai (even though it's big) for gravies and also for fried rice and for stir fry items with gritted teeth. Good for family of 5-7 persons. Heat distribution is good till mid and slightly above mid. I thought of keeping it due to it's price, quality and for emergency use even though it's neither a full fledged wok nor kadai.

I saw the review abt this product complaining it’s heavy and big, but those r clearly mentioned in product descriptions.1. It’s heavy and has excellent uniform heat distribution2. It’s wide and shallow. For deepfrying, unlike small kadai, it gives space around items for frying3. For stir frying it’s great, wide mouth makes mixing much easier4. It has a coating, so it’s free from rusting that generally occurs in cast iron or iron kadai5. It works excellent with induction gas stove too.Things to consider (I won’t call it cons)1. It’s heavy and wide mouth. It’s easy to wash. People who can’t lift heavy utensils have that consideration in mind2. Pricing is slightly on higher side, but I haven’t seen such kadai pattern and I liked it

Good purchase... Worth for money..Pros..1. Big size2. Almost non stick3. easy to clean4. Heat distribution is good5. Very little food sticks at the surface of kadhai just above burner.. That to can be prevented.. In low heat cookingCons...1. Should have been...bit more thicker2. Handle given is very small3. Thickness of base should have been more then.. It would be a perfect kadhai... In all 7 OUT of 10..nice product

First, let me say, Great Product but Poor design.There are 3 things that threw me off.1. Baby handles: Only two fingers go in. What the hell, Amazon? Is the product used by babies? Give a handle that fits an adult.2. No smooth surface: paper towel should torn while rubbing it with oil, aka seasoning. Also Food sticks even after seasoning. Go and Check Lodge's Surface...3. Base: Either it should be round or wide enough to stir fry. Basics, man... 😅The irony in all that, is the cast iron quality is way better than most brands but useless to cook in so many ways.Anyway, I returned it. Fix those issues in your next batch. Then I'll buy.

I have been getting rid of my non stick cookware and took advantage of all the great offers during the Dasara sale. I bought few cast iron utensils including tawas and this one. Rest were made in India and this one is made in China and you can make out that the finish on this one is much better than the India made ones. While the products looks like in the picture when delivered, after you start cooking, the bottom circle kind of starts rusting which is to be expected from a cast iron utensil and hence needs to be cared like always having a layer of oil post wash.

Good size, but somehow it doesn't feel as good in quality as you would expect from a cast iron pan. Does a decent job in cooking meat and vegetables. Heat distribution is alright, not the greatest.

First cast iron product for me. Actually was wanting to buy one since a long long time but due to the price, which is mostly towards the higher arena, I was a bit apprehensive to get one. This Amazon basics pre seasoned cast iron kadai got attention mainly due to the ratings and the price. Now once I ordered it during this lockdown period again doubt was there but thanks to the safe and secure delivery I was happy. The product was up to the mark and was as shown in the picture even bigger than what it looks like in the picture. It's pre seasoned still would suggest to season it atleast twice before use, as I learned from my cast iron kadai using Aunt☺️. Always always keep them clean and dry when not in use...but use you must more and more to build up the resistance of these and grow the non stick quality. I have cooked in it and must say am so pleased with the result. Feels good to cook😁😁 . Anyways more to add once I get to the one year mark with this.For those who are still worried and in dilemma about 'to buy or not to buy..'....get it and start using it....you will not repent.
