Well packed and perfect fit

When I bought my house, it was missing any filter on the return air vents. Upon inspection of the interior unit, there appeared to be a slightly larger than 1" slot with removable panel for access. Previous tenant had shoved a disposable filter of the wrong size in there. My immediate fix (after cleaning the evaporator coils) was a "cut to fit" hogs hair filter from a big box store. Later I installed return vents that fit standard size 1" disposable filters. Every 6 months or so I would have to remove a panel to remove and wash that ill fitting cut to fit filter.I got tired of that and sought out the correct replacement. I found these! The filter is the same as the cut to fit - it is low restriction and to protect the HVAC equipment, not to filter air for your benefit. The 2 pack is nice as I can swap in the clean filter immediately. With only 1 filter, I had to have the unit shut down for 30 min or more while I washed and dried the filter to reinstall.You will need an additional filter for dust and allergens. For that, you should use the least restrictive filter that meets your needs and works with your HVAC. In my case, that is one rated MERV 4 to 7.

I have been searching Home Depot and Lowes stores for this size filter without success. They were all too big or too small. My old filter was over forty and has seen better days, so I was desperate. Eventually I bought a filter that you cut to size yourself, but that was so flimsy that I kept on looking for the perfect size. This was it! And two at the same time at a reasonable price! I am over the moon. I have filters that will last longer than I will. Couldn't ask for more.

A/C Filter. $20 is overpriced but no choice.

Perfect fit. Works well and unlike other filters, presents less load on the air handler resulting in a higher efficiency. I must say, however that we did not purchase these with the intention of removing ultra fine particulates.

Perfect fit for my Bryant unit FB4ANF030. Easy to install. Clicks right into place.Nice that its a pack of 2. Have a replacement while one is drying after being rinsed off.
