Huge handpiece and awful tweezers, but good heat output
I'm used to a Weller station with a handpiece the size of a ballpoint pen, so this thing feels like soldering with a baseball bat. OTOH, the Weller really struggles with through-hole ground terminals on boards with more than 4 planes, so looks like I need to keep both. The Metcal tweezers are a complete waste of time and money, though - just awful. The Weller tweezers are a million times better.

Best Soldering Station that I Have Used to Date
I had to review this because the rating is too low. I have used this station extensively, and I thoroughly enjoy it. I am an electrical engineer, and I have used countless other stations. This is my favorite. Make sure that you use the proper tips to get the proper heat on whatever you are soldering. Also, the hot tweezers need to be aligned properly (which can be done easily). The other review that claims that the product is "too heavy to operate" does not even make sense. I can assure you that the iron and the hot tweezers are a very reasonable weight (maybe even on the light side relative to other irons I've used).
