My new favorite knife
I have owned many different knife brands from gerber or benchmade. I am. Butcher and use knives for a living and can say this knife is amazing. Out of all my pocket knives this one has the coolest function and form out of them all

Underwhelming Journeyer
Just got this knife, and I'm a bit disappointed. I was hoping this would be a lot like Liong Mah's #5 with the additional wrench to lock the blade open. While that new option is really cool, the rest of the knife is underwhelming. The slip joint is especially loose, making the lock wrench necessary for any kind of hard use. Nice pocket clip, but not a fan of the handle material or ergonomics. My plan was to buy the Journeyer and get rid of the #5, but now I think I'll just sell the Journeyer.

Good knife but requires VERY little resistance to close the blade. If you plan on doing even remotely serious cutting I would recommend using the little driver included to lock the blade.

The seller was awesome and I even received this item well before I expected. I would defiantly order from this seller again. That being said, I was very disappointed with the knife as a whole. The locking mechanism was billed as a slip joint knife which I have no problems with using, but in actually the knife uses a friction lock mechanism. A ball bearing in the handle travels along the blade of the knife and sets in a depression at about 90 degrees for a firm lockup, but at 180's, the lockup is worse than any other knife I have had. It is like a liner lock knife without the liner lock and the blade is almost free to open and close with hardly any force. Without the aid of the locking torques wrench, any pressure on the back of the blade will cause the blade to fold. Even with the torques wrench in place, there is blade wiggle up and down, and the locking wrench can easily slip out of the handle and be lost. CRKT makes some great knives, and I like to concept of this knife, but the execution is all kinds of suck. If locking mechanism was a true slip joint mechanism, coupled with the wrench locking system, then this knife might be a winner, but as is, I would recommend a broken frame lock knife over this knife.

I Should Have Known It Was Too Gimmicky
I received this knife yesterday. It is sharp out of the box. The black stonewash looks great. The handle is grippy without being aggressive and it feels good in the hand although the pocket clip may create a hot spot with extended use. I doubt, however, that this knife will receive any extended use. When deployed, the blade will slip back to the 90 degree angle far more easily than the blade in my Leatherman Juice or Victorinox Farmer. It is much firmer at the 90 degree angle, but I don't recall ever having to use a knife at a 90 degree angle. I have tightened the pivot screw with the supplied torx wrench/locking bar but the blade is still loose. Further, when locked in its "virtual fixed blade" configuration by the torx wrench/lock bar, there is noticeable up and down blade play. At best this knife is a back-up light EDC.

Easy to open
Sharp. Easy to open. Legal in NewYork city. And pleasing to look at. Artful. Then I lost it.

Meh
The knife itself is fine, but the blade tool kept falling out and eventually has been lost. I like CRKT - great value - but the tool was a gimmick. I'll be buying a different CRKT knife next time.
