Speedo Womens Swimsuit Brief Powerflex Eco Dive Solid

This is my 7th order of a Speedo Eco Dive suit. I'm tall with an athletic build. As a middle aged guy who swims, this suit is ideal for pool or ocean. Also great for hot yoga. The 5" rise of the Speedo "Dive" suit is ideal for my body type and has enough coverage in the seat for my muscly bottom. I get nice looks from ladies. I order one or even two sizes down as the nylon does "relax" a bit. I'm a 35" waist, so a size 34" is ideal if I'm going to wear them all day at the beach. A size 32" is ideal for laps or a race, and keeps everything in place. But, I usually wear a 34" for hot yoga to allow my male body parts to move around a little bit as needed for various yoga poses. Both sizes look like I was born wearing the suit. Contrary to the listed information at the moment, the Speedo Eco Dive is a nylon suit which is more comfortable than polyester or other materials.

My actual waist size is 32”, however I’ve learned over the years that garment manufacturers use “waist” to mean where the waistband actually sets, which in this case is closer to the top of the hips than the true waist; I ordered size 34 and the fit is indeed exact where the waistband sets (as accurately seen on model) while the rest of this swim brief fits the (slim) body smoothly and accurately with just enough material to securely cover and comfortably stay in place throughout a lap-swimming session. All stitching is neat and accurate as well as strong; excellent build quality with an ample and sturdy waistband-drawstring sewn-in to the double-lined front-half panel and flat-stitched as needed; no bulky panel-joints, etc. So far, after about 8 weeks of 3x/week (on average) usage (in deep blue; I also bought one in blank, which I’ve used just a few times), in fairly harshly chlorinated water, the fabric and color are unchanged; fresh-water rinsed after each use and air-dried. Some here have complained about durability and fading while swimming several days a week—as many as 6, much as I do. Well, yes, in 5-6 months of such use, it will fade and the fabric will finally loose its strength in chlorine pool water. I’m not surprised by this, seems to be normal given the circumstances.

I understand these suits are supposed to be snug,but these are ridiculously tight around the legs. I have a 32 waist but am shorter and stocky. A 34 usually fits pretty well but had to exchange for a 36 which fits perfectly. Definitely like the longer side seam and cut. I bought this as a lap suit. I purchased a speedo endurance standard cut suit at the same time and returned it for the same reasons.

Please continue making and selling this style; it's excellent, classic, comfortable, and perfect for middle-aged people like me. I swim twice a week, weigh 70 kg, and don't consider myself particularly athletic, but this brief, besides being comfortable, fits my body type perfectly. At 47, I'm not embarrassed to wear one of these for my workouts. I highly recommend it.

I have not worn a Speedo brief swim suit for over 40 years. I decided to try this one exclusively for use in my pool which is in a screened pool enclosure that is surrounded by a tall hedge. So, no worry about scaring the neighbors. ;-) I bought it hoping it would be comfortable, fast drying and easy to rinse after use. Happily, I can report that it meets all those criteria. But, I wanted to submit this review hoping it may be helpful to someone else contemplating ordering one. I read all the questions and all the reviews before I ordered. (Yes, I'm OCD.) Several commented that this suit runs somewhat small. I carefully measured myself at each recommended body location (remember, I'm OCD) and came out being a "perfect" size 37. So, based on the reviews and answered questions, I decided to go the half size larger, a 38. The 38 fits and is comfortable but after wearing in daily for a week it's clear that a size 36, would fit better. So, based on my experience, if your an in-between size, I'd recommend going to the lower size. (I should point out, that other than my love handles and old geezer gut, I have a thin build.)

Update, they fade fast. A half a dozens times in the jacuzzi and they almost look transparent. Have always loved these suits. Great coverage and complimentary to a slim body, especially an older 60+ male like me. The fit was good true to fit so far. I swim three times a week and hit the jacuzzi afterwards and I am hoping they don’t fall apart as others have said they did. I am a true 30” waist and ordered that and they fit great. If they stretch, fade tor bad or fall apart I will update my review. A picture would say a thousand words, but I better not.

As of Jun 25 2026 Amazon still has this listing messed up and cannot be bothered to fix it even after notification. Probably AI making a mess of things.. Among other issues with the listing that are wrong (described as 100% cotton and womens for example) there are 2 different products being displayed in a way that suggests they are same product in 5 different colors. The red, grey, light blue are not the same product as the dark navy and black. The black and dark navy are the 5" dive brief. The others are a different cut and different product with different dimensions. I have the Black and Dark Navy 5". Have really come to like the 5" swimsuit. It's a decent all around swimsuit with modest cut.

Good for the mid-aged man or someone new to wearing swim briefs. Good coverage all around. My pant size is between 30 and 32. I chose a 32 and if I had to do it over I’d get a 34, just for a little bigger leg opening and a bit more coverage in the seat. The material did start to show signs of wear after 4 or 5 months. Make sure you really rinse well to get all the chlorine out. I’ve never washed in the machine, but in retrospect, maybe using a little soap when handwashing would help to get more chlorine out?
