Keeps My Editing Rig Cool and Quiet
I’ve been using the Corsair Air Series AF120 LED Quiet Edition (red) in my editing system, and it’s done a great job keeping everything cool, even during long rendering sessions. The airflow is strong, and what I like most is how quiet it runs — I barely notice it’s on. The red LED adds a nice touch of style without being too flashy, and installation was simple. It feels well-built and solid once mounted, with no vibration or rattling. It’s not the most powerful fan out there, but for everyday use and video editing, it’s perfect. My system stays cool, runs smoothly, and looks great doing it. Definitely a reliable, quiet, and effective fan.

Corsair Air Series AF120 LED, truly impressive!
Corsair isn't a name unfamiliar to most computer enthusiasts. From cases, to power supplies, to cooling products and more, Corsair has a reputation of making high quality products that won't break the bank. Today I'm looking at a slew of products from Corsair's Air Series of cooling fans. When a rather large box showed up on my doorstep I was not expecting it to be filled with fans. After opening the box I realized that Corsair had sent a pair of every fan in the Corsair Air Series. That leaves me with a pair of each of the following fans: AF120 Quiet, AF120 Performance, AF140 Quiet, SP120 Quiet, and the SP120 High Performance. Each of the 120mm fans were delivered in a twin pack while the AF140 fans showed up in individual packaging. The boxes themselves clearly denote the model number along with the basic fan specifications at the bottom left of the front of each box. A large window makes it extremely easy to get a good look at each of the fans before you buy them should you be shopping in your local Fry's or Microcenter. Now that I've had my fun stacking all the boxes in interesting ways… Features: Flow optimized based on application (air flow versus restriction) Hydraulic bearings for quiet and reliable service Rubber corners for reduced vibration and noise Interchangeable trim rings Low-voltage adapter included for even less noise The SP series fans may not be something you'd buy to replace fans on your current heat sink or radiator, but if you were buying parts without included fans they're a great choice! The quiet version of the SP120 doesn't move a ton of air to cool highly overclocked CPUs on air cooling but it was essentially silent during the test runs. The faster of the two SP120 fans cooled incredibly well at the penalty of increased noise. Keep in mind though that the SP120 High Performance Edition still isn't a loud fan. They don't hold a candle to the Vantec Tornado screamers of yesteryear and if you aren't picky about noise they'd suit you just fine even at full speed. The quieter SP120 Quiet Edition is what I'd recommend to anyone who needs an absolutely silent computer… for anyone else the SP120 High Performance Edition (maybe using the low-voltage adapter) would be the way to go. Overall both the Corsair AF-series and the Corsair SP-series fans were impressive. Both lineups include editions oriented towards quiet cooling and performance cooling. Even the performance-oriented versions of the fans were very quiet with the exception of the SP120 High Performance Edition, which, while performing highly, did not do so in silence at 12 volts. The included low-voltage adapter quieted the beast right down though! The interchangeable color rings are a nice touch and the frames and rubber noise isolating inserts are built extremely well and will offer years of service. Corsair has served up winners here! Pros: Superior airflow at any given noise level Interchangeable rings add a nice touch to any theme Extremely quiet (with the exception of the SP120 High Performance Edition) Included low-voltage adapter for even more quiet operation Cons: Slightly higher cost than other fans

Upgrading to these is money well spent.
This was a great deal; this was the far and away most efficient way to score cooling options for my computer case. The Good: Corsair fans have a great reputation, and it's well earned. They're very quiet at under 2000 RPMs, which is a good speed for casual use. I don't even really hear them over house background noise unless I've got them pushing over 3500 RPM, and that's to support a full load on my water-cooled machine. I'm currently using 3 of them for air movement and 3 of them on Swiftech radiators, and the total cooling gains is roughly 30C on full load over a solely air cooled system. The LEDs project directly over the blades and do the pattern you see here, but the fans are very 'red' looking and not just partially illuminated. The Bad: There is some play in the frame, so you need to make sure you've got them bolted down entirely. Missing even one screw can cause oscillation that makes them buzz harshly. The exhaust/input isn't well labelled so make sure you check flow direction before committing to your install. The LEDs scale in power to the speed of the fans, so there's no way to make the LEDs brighter or dimmer without increasing fan speed, too. Improvements: An LED brightness option would appeal to some people. A flow direction marker, clear and legible, would just be very helpful. TL;DR: I really enjoy having these and would buy again for any build. They're a slick addition to any aesthetically pleasing case build, and they're priced very, very well for being such excellent fans with a neat feature of the LEDs.

Good fans, could be quieter
I bought two of these fans to replace the "three speed" Antec fans which came with my case. They are being used as the push"fans in a push-pull configuration, paired with XSPC "static pressure" fans doing the pulling across a 240mm radiator in a custom water loop. All of the fans are controlled with a Sunbeamtech PL-RS-PCI fan controller in "voltage mode." I was hoping that these fans would be a bit quieter than they are. They are almost as loud as the cheaper Antec fans they replaced, though not quite. Running then at the lowest setting the controller will allow makes the case quiet enough for watching movies, but turning them up to mid or max speed definitely creates a noticeable hum that would be distracting in a quiet room. They do move a lot more air though, and my temps are a good 5-6 degrees (C) cooler than with the previous fans. If these fans were installed in an open-air configuration (ie, as pure intake or exhaust without a radiator) I think they would be much more quiet, but the push-pull across the radiator creates some additional turbulence and noise. I was worried that the LED lights would be too bright and distracting, as I've had this problem with lit accessories in the past. My reservoir LED would cast a bright blue spot all the way across the room. I am happy to report that this is not a problem with these fans, as the LEDs are positioned to create ambient light that does not project away from the case. It actually looks pretty neat, and is not very distracting in a dark room. Overall, I am happy with the purchase. The price is good, and the quality seems on par with other Corsair products.

Buenas gente. ¿Qué te gustó y qué no te gustó?

I bought two AF140 LED fans to go into the top space on my Corsair Obsidian 450D. This case already had two 140mm fans at the front and one at the back and with it being a big case I wanted to extract warm air as quickly as possible. The case is the windowed version and i bought the red led version of these fans and they look superb inside the case casting a nice red glow across the components inside. The fans, as you would expect from Corsair, are of a high quality - they come with 4 mounting screws and a fairly long cable. As previously mentioned, my case is quite big and I actually bought the following extension cable Akasa AK-CBFA01-30 30 cm PWM Fan Extension Cable as some reviews said the fan cable was very short however I didn't use the extension at all as I connected them both to the following Akasa AK-CBFA04-15 PWM Fan Splitter Cable for 2 Fans and then onto the 4 pin connector on the motherboard. In use, and this is playing Battlefield 1, they don't sound too loud - louder than idle but then they are shifting huge amounts of air and being 140mm fans they run slower anyway so not as loud as they could be! However they are NOT silent so don't buy these expecting them to be. For reference I'm running a 4790K cpu with EVO 212 cooler and two fans, R9 270X, 3 HDD, 2 SSD, 16GB ram - so quite a bit of kit in the case. My cpu temps are 28 degrees idle and 60 degrees stressed and case temps are 23 degrees idle and 24 stressed - this is in a room with an ambient temperature of 22 degrees so I'd say overall these are doing a great job of extracting the air from the case.
