Classic chef knife
I love this knife set. It is very sharp, and perfect for meal prep. They fit comfortably in your hands as well. The wood block is also very sturdy.

Cutting Edge
Henckels Twin Signature 7-Piece Block Set is exactly what I'd hoped that it would be: a quality set of knives that is ideal for the home. The set of Henckels that I've owned since the mid-80s finally gave in to a lot of use, sharpenings and dishwashings (dishwashing a good knife is a nice way to shorten the handle's life expectancy!). But 20 years of great service from my previous set of Henckels certainly warranted a loyal update/upgrade to another Henckels set.And I am not disappointed. The new set is quite sturdy. Home users will be impressed with their strength; pros might be used to a higher standard, but I used to work in a professional kitchen and I can't see how these would not be as effective as anything a pro has. These knives come out of the box SHARP too...a lot sharper than the sharpest that I've ever had my previous set sharpened to.There were two descriptions from Amazon that tell you what you get; one of Amazon's descriptions included a carving knife (product description) and the other a peeling knife (what's in the box). Amazon seems to have corrected the error as of this updated 2-13-2006 writing. To be sure, here's what you actually get:- 2 1/2" peeling knife- 4" paring knife- 5" serrated knife- 8" chef's knife...this baby cuts through a roast like a hot knife through butter even though it's designed for chopping and dicing. In my opinion, it's better than a carving knife.- a sharpening steel- kitchen shears- and a storage block with 11 slots which is great because some of the knives, especially the serrated knives, from my old set are still in mint shape (like the 8" bread knife), so there's plenty of room in the block for knives in your current collection looking for a new place to sleep. No 8" carving knife. But like I said above, the 8" chef's knife works better than any carving knife that I've used. The only things missing from this set for the average home is a nice large bread knife (as I said this was not a problem for me) and steak knives (also not a problem as most households already have these). Plain and simple, this is a great set of food preparation knives that--if my previous set is any indication--will last for decades.Bon Appetite.

Great quality knives
My family only uses J.A. Henckels knives. My mom gave me one of their santoku knives when I left for college. I used it for years until I lost it during a move. Now that college is behind me and I'm now living in my own place, I decided to buy this knife set as a little house warming gift to myself (lol!).. I love using these knives, they are EXTREMELY sharp! I accidentally cut myself with the peeling knife already. It was so sharp, I didn't even feel it. So definitely use with care. I don't recommend putting these in the dish washer. After using the knives, I rinse with soap and water and dry them with a kitchen towel before putting them back in the wood block. If taken good care of, these knives can last you a lifetime. I also bought the santoku knife (same series as these) to add to the wood block. I always look forward to using these knives when cooking/prepping, as weird as it sounds they are fun to use

Quality
Very sharp! This was a gift for my birthday and I didn’t realize how terrible my knives were until I got these!

Nice knives; very limited set.
I like these knives, which are sharp and handle well, and seem high-quality. I've only had them for a month, so I can't speak to their durability, but I'm hopeful that with proper care they'll last a long time. My only warning to buyers would be twofold: 1) the knife block is a piece of crap. It's really not worth whatever fraction of the overall price you're paying for it, so if you can find a way to get (some of) these knives without the knife block, I'd go for it. and 2) the set *says* "7 pieces," but be aware that the knife block and sharpener count as two pieces, and one of the remaining five pieces is a set of kitchen shears-- which are useful, but are not a knife. So you are actually getting only four knives. They're good knives, but don't be misled when you order.

High quality
The quality of the knives is perfect. Their weight is great, with perfect feel, and balance. The knives slide through a cut with no drag or resistance. I like their design.I highly recommend this product, this company, and this quality.

Wonderful quality.
I purchased these knives to upgrade my 20 year old set of the same type. I had carpal tunnel surgery on my right hand a few years back and have some difficulty with various handles. This set offers a smooth, easy to grip lightweight handle design and contains all the basic knives any cook needs at a very affordable price. The quality is exactly what you expect from Henckels. I am extremely happy with this set of high quality knives and look forward to many, many years of use.
