I have watched it thru a few times. It’s just so good.

When the catastrophe struck, there was confusion and fear. This scripted docudrama takes us through the entire chaotic tragedy so we can see it unfold. The character of the journalist is an amalgamation of the hard-working truth seekers who laid bare the truth. English cast with excellent subtitles.

Excellent account of the events, which could have been far more dramatic than it was. I am a physicist, born only few hundred miles away from this place. Even though I new a lot about this accident, the movie shocked me deeply. Ignorance of the radiation danger seems the most stunning; everybody should see the movie in order to make an educated decisions.

I got my mine today and the 2 disks are blank, I have 4 different Blu-Ray players in my house not one of them could pick up any information off the 2 disks so I return it for a full refund........

If you live in the US do not order DVDs from here. They are for region 2 and will not play on US DVD players.

Di questa miniserie posso solo dire terrificante , straziante , unica e realizzata in maniera sublime ( un dramma perfettamente rappresentato con un cast strabiliante ) Resa audio e video perfetta (valutando la versione bluray non 4k ) Solo lingua inglese con sottotitoli in inglese Consegna perfetta

Muy buena historia de ficción basada en hechos conocidos sobre el desastre de Chernóbil. El DVD llegó seguro, pero más tarde de lo previsto debido a un retraso en la aduana. La documentación completada correctamente por el remitente mejoraría enormemente este problema, junto con el pago de impuestos por adelantado.

Zunächst: der ganze Film läuft nur auf englisch. Aber mir fiel es dennoch leicht, der Handlung zu folgen. Hilfreich sind hier die Untertitel, diese solltet ihr anschalten. Das ist sehr hilfreich, selbst wenn das Schulenglisch lange her ist. Mir fiel sogar erst nach 1/2 Stunde auf, dass alles Englisch läuft. Die Handlung ist packend, sie beginnt mit der Katastrophe, dem GAU an sich. Die Handlung wird von Walerie Legassow erzählt. Dank seiner Aufzeichnungen auf Kassetten, werden die Hintergründe und Lügen bekannt. Aus verschiedenen Perspektiven erhält der Zuschauer Einsicht in die sehr persönlichen Erfahrungen. Aber mehr möchte ich nicht vorwegnehmen bzw spoilern. Wer diese DVD gesehen hat, wird diese garantiert nicht vergessen. Ich würde förmlich in die Handlung hineingezogen und alles andere war vergessen. Der Film ist nichts für schwache Nerven. Es fällt teils schwer, hinzusehen (Szenen im Krankenhaus). Und: es spielt keine Rolle, falls ihr im Schulunterricht schlecht in Englisch wart. Ich war selbst schwach. Aber ich habe später viel auf Englisch gelesen und auch im TV gesehen. Dadurch ist mein Wortschatz deutlich besser. Und ich kann der Handlung leicht folgen. Und die Untertitel helfen, da einzelne Schauspieler einen zu krassen Akzent haben. Daher: gleich vor Beginn des Films einschalten.

Brilliant production and cast. Probably as close to the real thing as you could show on the telly. Makes you wonder just how bad it really was and how much we will never know......

Well produced. Not for the faint of heart.
