Works well for cold process soap. It replaced a cheap Walmart stick blender I had and was worth it. Motor does get warm if you run the blender for a while, so just pulse it and stir, alternating so it doesn't heat up.

I wouldn't recommend buying this product
I wouldn't recommend buying this product. The price is cheap nad it also includes nice extras like the cup and the holders. However it burned on me in the very first use and now it is in the trash. I was trying to mix a very liquid mash potatoes, at least i was able to save the food.

Would not recommend purchasing this device
I bought this blender because most of the reviews of it are good. It was written up as easy to clean, it has stainless steel blades and stem and it was very well priced. Unfortunately, it does heat up very quickly with very light weight mixtures (yogurt with flavoring- shredded coconut), causing the mixture to take on a toasted taste from the metal of the system cooking immediately surrounding portions of the mixture. A friend of mine has a braun with a plastic stem which I have used to make the same mixture and which does not suffer the heating problem that this device exhibits. I therefore, would not recommend this device for that reason. Otherwise, it does clean readily, is light weight, and is a good price. But, I'll likely buy a different device that doesn't cook the surrounding food while mixing and give this one to Good Will.

This is a great little hand blender
This is a great little hand blender. The only downside is that you can't have it on for more than about 30 seconds, because it will get hot. I use it for dressing, and blending soups and sauces

It's OK.
I really liked this hand blender when I received it, it's beautiful! But, it seemed to overheat when I made my first batch of soap. The handle got really warm and I stopped using it cause I didn't want to burn out the motor. I ended up returning it but I must say I did like it and the price was great.

TOTALLY PLEASED WITH PURCHASE
I got tired of getting out the big blender every time I wanted a Smoothie or wanted to thoroughly mix up a liquid meal replacement. After reading a variety of reviews on different immersion blenders, I chose the SIMPLY AMPLE SA1412 2 SPEED HAND BLENDER. I couldn't be happier. I like the fact that it's a plug-in hand blender - no fiddling with batteries &/ or having them run out of power. The 2 speeds are quite handy when chopping up ice or frozen fruit. The mixing blade is quite sharp. My first smoothie meal replacement came out perfectly - no lumpy powder, fruit was nicely blended, ice was chopped up and the small amount of chocolate syrup was mixed throughout the smoothie. In total it came out smooth and totally blended WITHOUTH having to haul out the big blender. Cleanup involved removing the stirrer and putting it in the dishwasher. Definitely worth the cost!! I also bought a 20 oz. steel cup so I could mix/blend and drink from the same cup (I hate drinking out of plastic)...plus the steels cup kept the smoothie colder than plastic. Cleanup for that involved just putting it, too in the dishwasher. TOTALLY PLEASED WITH PURCHASE!

It worked nicely at first
It worked nicely at first, but it STARTED SMOKING THE FOURTH TIME I USED IT--and this was not doing anything that should have caused stress to the motor, it was while making hummus. Buy a better one if you don't want to spend more than the difference replacing it.

In response to the company's reply.
I wrote a review a couple weeks ago and gave it 3 stars. For some reason I don't find my review anywhere.I came back to downgrade my review. It seems to be losing power. And it produces an unpleasant metallic, "motory" smell when I turn it on. I may have to return it. I will try to contact the company. In response to the company's reply.Thank you for your reply and suggestions. However, you should know: I never overfill. I never blend without liquid. I always blend in stages. I only blend fruit. I don't use ice, ever.At first the smell started after 10 or so seconds of use. Now it starts almost immediately. It is not disappearing; it’s getting worse.I had a stick blender for 4 years, which was still working fine when I replaced because of buildup within the casing of the main shaft. Never a smell. Never a loss of power. I suspect a defective motor.Thank you.
