Very good for beginners

Good book that was required for after school keyboard lessons. Daughter is working towards grade 1 with this book.

The media could not be loaded. I learnt with these books as a child. Purchased a keyboard again as an adult and this was naturally my first choice of book/music. Sadly returned as mine jumped from page 44 to 47 so I was missing two pages of two songs. But would be a great book to start out with if learning or refreshing

Beginning to learn to play the piano - this book is easy to read and follow the instructions.

Sorry. I appreciate this isn't really a review of the book but I think it is worth mentioning.The picture and description are of a book with online audio access but I received the CD version. The ISBN numbers were the same as listed. I went to the publishers web site and filled in their customer contact form attaching the Amazon invoice as proof of purchase and within the hour they emailed the code to access the digital content. They explained that the CD version had been replaced by the audio version with the same ISBN numbers and that Amazon must be selling old stock.I spoke to customer services and Amazon were happy for me to return the book but said that they couldn't guarantee which version I would get if I reordered, hence me going onto enquire with the publisher.

Never had a music lesson , but in 1996 I brought Book 1 and started to teach my self. Just brought a new Yamaha PSR 400 and started playing again. this is a really easy book to follow and teach yourself method I'm up to book 3 and as I said NEVER HAD A MUSIC LESSON. If your thinking of starting to learn and you are teaching yourself this is the book for you. great lay out great songs easy to follow and in no time you will be off and playing.

Bought this book 1 at the same time as book 2 . Simple clear layout idea for keyboard beginner.Book 2 includes a CD, this book 1 does not.

This is good and fun. My only issue is that the generic 'keyboard' that some of the advice and guidance is based on is pretty unlike my Yamaha keyboard!

This is a great book for anyone learning how to read lead sheets, but not classical notation. If you want an introduction to playing popular music, this is the way to go. Traditional piano pedagogy is more geared toward learning classical music, and I find that adult students are disappointed when they realize that pop/rock piano is completely different. In modern keyboard music, you need to know the chord symbols and you need to be able to come up with your own left hand rhythms. Classical training is insufficient when it comes to this. As a teacher, I always had a hard time finding a beginner-friendly way to teach lead sheets. This book is the only one I can find that does the job.

El texto en ingles es muy facil de seguir y cuenta con unos graficos muy explicativos. Lo veo muy recomendable para los que empezamos, justo lo que queria. Comprendo perfectamente que lo utilicen masivamente los profesores de musica (yo tambien he sido profesor y se la ayuda que supone algo como este libro)
