Awesome but not quite perfect
This is the third pair of NB minimus I've owned and used for long distance hiking and backpacking (MT00 and MO10GT). I just used them this past weekend to do a 20 mile hike in the White Mountains, I brought a pair of backup shoes, but I didn't need them, so right out of the box they were comfortable. I tried these barefoot and I got hot spots on my heels, but as soon as I threw on socks they were fine, maybe with time that will be different (Ideally I'd like to be able to do either depending on conditions). I like the sole much better than MT00, I think these are much better on the trail and a big improvement, however they aren't as light and breathable as those were, but they are more water resistant (and by water resistant I just mean up to an inch, basically up to the top mesh, you can see the mark that divides it in the images). They are much more breathable, go figure, than the MO10GT (gore-tex), and much more comfortable.I think the only real issue I had was they were too wide at the top line (even for NB wide shoes), so small debris was getting in on the sides. If you are a minimal hiker or trail runner and you like the feel of NB, I think you'll really like this shoe!

Perfect Running Shoe - for Me
True to length, wider toe-box for people like me with wider feet. I would never own another pair of street / smooth trail running shoes while these are produced. CAUTION: if you're not used to minimalist shoes, you need to "train" your body to wearing them. Ease into using them. walk in them for a few days, but don't run until a few days of just walking in them. Then run ONLY a half mile or less (0.8 km) the first time you run in them. Then don't run in them again for a couple of days. Repeat the distance limits and timing for the first month of using them. After that, your body will be ready to run longer more frequently in them. The mechanics of running in minimalist versus standard shoes is different for your bones and muscles. Enjoy!

Minor Adjustments Detract from Perfect Predecessor
The Minimus 10v2 is my favorite shoe of all time, and I was pretty excited for v3, and there's a lot to like about them. They're by far the sweetest looking running shoe I know of at any price. Most running shoes make me wanna gag. These bad boys in all their rugged minimalistic glory make me wanna run up a mountain, but I have a serious complaint about these. It's not the new tread. Unlike some people, I like the new tread. I think it's better for off-roading. I think it makes the shoe a little less dual purpose, and more specialized still trail, but I'm fine with that, and it does still hold up as a road runner, but the big problem is that the heel collar sits about a half an inch higher around the ankle and heel. It rubs the back of my foot ragged. The first few times I ran with them, I wore socks. I didn't notice any problems. I then took them for a run without socks last week, and they blasted my Achilles heels. Both of them have big ole blisters. Yesterday, I took them for a run with socks, and it still hurt pretty bad. I'm sure eventually, my skin back there will toughen up, but I'll probably have to treat these as a socks only shoe. I wear socks most of the time anyway, but I just find it intolerable when a company fiddles with a perfect product. I never wore the 10v1, but I would've bought the 10v2 for the rest of my life. The verdict is still out for the 10v3, but their first impression on me is a disappointment.

I give these shoes a solid Five Stars...(first 10 days)
Went for a run the first day I got them about a week ago and they felt great and worked beautifully! Since then I have been on 2-3 more moderate runs (4-5 miles each) and I've had No blisters at all, just a little soreness around my foot and lower legs. But that's just the nature of the shoes. This is certainly a minimalist shoe (with incredible grip, might I add) and should be used in that fashion. There is pretty much no cushioning (aside from the sole which cushions rocks & pebbles) so be careful you know what type of shoe you want to get before purchasing these. I would also recommend getting a half size larger. They may feel great when you first put them on your feet, but as you run, the muscles in your feet extend (or relax) and push on the end of the shoe making it slightly uncomfortable. Plus the next size will give room for maybe a little thicker socks in cold weather.Fun Fact: Running correctly in these shoes (mid foot strike or around the ball of your foot) actually builds the muscles in your feet and lower legs. The calves and lower legs are actually there to aid the natural running motion. So running naturally in these shoes is extremely healthy for your overall leg strength and balance. All this to say, during my first days as an owner of New Balance minimus trail shoes I have been beyond pleased. If you end up purchasing this shoe (though they are on the pricier side) then I'm convinced you won't regret it!

Good, expensive and runs small.
Good shoe, but far too narrow in the mid-foot. Ordered 2E and it was still too narrow and they are at least 1/2 size too short. The material across the top of the foot is very firm, so shoe expansion per step doesn't really occur, putting a little pressure on the foot. Because of the material firmness across the top, I don't recommend wearing these without socks (even though the seamless stitching inside is designed for it); it dug lines into my skin walking around my house for a short time.

Ottima scarpa minimalista
La consiglio agli amanti del trail running minimalista con stile di corsa in appoggio sull'avanpiede, la fodera interna assente è studiata per essere indossata scalza, la scarpa è leggerissima, consiglio un numero in più in quanto calza piccola.
