A Sick Horror/Thriller with a Concept that just won't Die!
A delightfully creepy and menacingly disturbing slasher flick... overall it is scary mixed with thrills unimaginable through the eyes of a fourteen year old but if you are eighteen (which I am) or older you start to see the good and the bad aspects about this movie along with others!Plot: A group of six innocent people get mixed up after one of the civilian's cars crash into the other car filled with the five other humans. Two of them stay behind while the other four go out to find help within the West Virginian woods. But the reason they crashed was because the car filled with the five humans had its tire popped by barb wire that some random person (or should I say three random cannibalistic mutant hillbillies) left there. Now the murderous rednecks are picking off the humans one by one! Who can stop them or can they be stopped!?Review: All I can say that was bad about this film was that it felt very, very rushed and with its $10 million budget I believe it could've been so much more. The film wasn't bad but it wasn't great either but it was scary! This is one of the very first mutant killer people movies made in the 2000's and the appearance and the way the psychopaths act was genuinely frightening in a lot of ways and somewhat goofy in other parts! I was overall surprised at how violent this flick was especially since it was made in a time wherePG-13 was all the rage and R had tame violence/gore. This one went all out on the blood, terror, and scares and it barley ever held back on the deaths (which there was only eight of and about three were not that gory). All in all I had an awesome time watching it and I would recommend it to any good horror fan!Acting: Eliza Dushku was brilliant and so was all the other actors... it felt real and they acted like any normal human being would act in this kind of situation! Desmond Harrington (Ghost Ship) acted calm and cool in some scenes that I thought were necessary and he did perfect on them!Gore: A brutal barb wire strangling scene, a head chopped in half with an axe, multiple gory arrow shots, a severed ear, severed limbs and more! It was an all out gore-fest!Bottom Line: The story/plot/theme has been done to death by now but it's nice to see at least a scary one once in a while and Wrong Turn delivers! Definitely worth a watch especially on a dark and stormy night... it'll start off happy and bright and turn dark and violent within like 20 minutes of the film!Rated R for strong violence and gore, some language and drug useIs it worth the Buy on a scale of 1-10: 7For the Movie itself on a scale of 1-5: 4

Pretty Bizarre
I watched it because I am from West Virginia. Guess, I won't be going back for any family reunions if they keep killing off my friends and kinfolk.

Inbreeding in West Virginia? Noooooo!
Chris Finn is late for an appointment and stops at a gas station to use the phone (doesn't work) and checks out a map that shows a dirt road that leads around the large traffic jam blocking the only highway to his destination. Taking this backwoods shortcut, a short way up the road he literally runs into another vehicle in the middle of the road. Two couples and the requisite single female are stranded there when their car ran over a strand of barbed wire seemingly placed in the road on purpose. Finn, the single woman, and one of the couples leave the scene of the accident to try and find assistance, leaving the other couple behind at their vehicle. Now we have the formula of city folks looking for excitement in the country both stranded and divided, in the backwoods of West Virginia. Why would anyone look for a phone where there are no power lines whatsoever? Simple, to create this kind of suspense in a slasher/thriller movie in which the blood will soon fly and the city folks soon die.Spectacular mutants, a squealing stupid girl, stupidly brave and clueless men, and some nice knife and axe work blend together to give us this bloodily entertaining movie with just the right allotments of gore, cheese, and stupidity. Definitely entertaining splatter for those who appreciate the genre.Mmmmmmm. Long Pork. Don't check the fridge for any snacks!

Best Movie Ever
A great way to start off a group off people and someone who runs into them into the Wild and Wonders of West Virginia back country. Greenbrier county is full of cannibals who haunt you down if you go near Bear Mt. Rd. A long time ago there was a chemical spillage from a local plant that got into the waters of the local farmers which generically mutated them. One family survived and created an off spring that made locals disappear into the woods of Greenbrier. This is the original film make of this thrilling plot and climax which was filmed in 2003. The rest of this film of sequels which are not even worth turning too, Part 2 almost had a good start then fell off on part 3, 4, 5, 6. It would be nice to do a remake of this original one with Eliza Dushku and Chris.
