Xfinity Set of Two Comcast Xr5 Rf Remote Control X1 w/Backlight - Version V4-r

Just like our earlier remote. Easy to pair with my bedroom tv and sound bar. Works like a charm. This fits my hand comfortably. The keys work smoothly and of course the main reason for buy this is it has a backlight which is great when the room lighting is dim or totally off. I tried to get this remote from comcast since July. None at their store so I called them up and ordered it. Call 3 times to find out why I couldn't get it but the always want to send me remote that I don't want. Finally someone told me this remote was discontinued. You would think comcast would inform their employee's so the customer isn't sent on a wild goose chase. So finding this remote on Amazon was great for me. Plus this was a 2 pack so I have a spare.

This is the remote that should come with the Xfinity X1 system. The solid shape feels less likely to slip out of your hand than the standard remote, the backlit buttons are great, and the flat back keeps it from rolling away. It does seem slightly larger than the standard remote, so that could be a concern for some people, but other than that it's excellent. If you have X1 and miss the backlit buttons of the old silver Comcast remotes, get these now - you'll be glad you did! Easy to configure and works just like the standard X1 remote, including the "Xfinity" button. Awesone.

I ordered the XR5 Rf Remote Control to replace an XR2 remote I had dropped one too many times. I loved the XR5 as soon as I unwrapped it. It has a nice smooth rubbery coating that not only feels good but I suspect will help protect it when dropped. It was a snap to pair it to my TV and found that I could also set it to control the power & volume on my soundbar, eliminating another remote. As far as I know the XR2 doesn't have that feature. I had ordered the set of two to have one as a backup; however, I love this so much I am going to go ahead and replace another XR2 with the second XR5 now.

Works good. Will not use voice feature on remote.

Wanted to get my parents extra remotes of the same design as it took them a while to get comfortable with the tech. Remotes control their upgraded set top boxes.

Works well. Goes through several walls without any issues. Nice look and feel. The buttons on mine light up red when the remote is moved which is pretty useful in the dark. It is a bit sensitive so if you bump it slightly then you’ll find yourself on another channel or menu, but I can fault the product for my own operator error. Would buy again.

The two Xfinity Comcast XR5 RF remotes work perfectly with my Xfinity X1 system. I especially like the lighted keypad feature which greatly improves the visibility of the keys in a dark room. They were purchased to replace an earlier model XR5 IR remote which was losing signal strength. The signal strength of these units is excellent and I am very pleased with their performance.

I just received the remote and am extremely disappointed. First of all, some of the buttons work but quite a few don't. And there was no booklet, pamphlets, instructions . Maybe I need to program the remote for my particular x1 box. I'm pretty sure I'm not supposed, that the remote would work as soon as I put in batteries(that's what it says for this product) yet that's not happening. In addition, I'm very disappointed there is no voice command recognition on this. I feel that the info given to entice people to buy this item is misleading and I'm trying to get a refund or at the very least I'd like some assistance with this.
